I'm pretty new here too although I've been reading for quite a while. Just turned 45 a couple weeks ago so I guess I'm smack dab in the middle of the 40's (how did that happen!)
I've been doing pretty good for the last year but I'm a little stuck right now and realize that I need support to stick with this lifestyle even when not seeing big results.
It's so motivating to see the great things so many of you are doing!

Yesterday was first lower body workout of the rebuild and OMG! It's been a few years since I've done squats and I went too high on the weight to start. I thought I was being conservative, but I was wrong. I got through it but I hurt. I didn't injure myself, but I'm going to be very sore for the next couple of days. Anyway, ~2000 calories in and ~3000 out, right on plan. DW made some nice beef and barley soup last night. It was quite tasty.

TGIF!!! I am so excited for my weekend to begin because I actually get to have some FUN and not work all weekend. Tonight having dinner with a friend, catching a movie and a couple drinks. Sat. DH and I are having an early Valentines day and going away overnight. I am going to make an effort to stay with clean eating because my scale is actually going down the last couple of days.
I usually exercise 1 hour each morning and for the past three days I have been trying out some dvd's during my lunch, out of the three I have tried, there are two that I really like so far. Two really concentrate on the thigh, leg area, which is where I definitely need to do a ton of work. I am excited to try the 4th video on Monday (me? excited to do an exercise video, never thought I would say that).
Welcome, Welcome to all new comers, so happy you joined us!!
Have a wonderful, on plan weekend all!!!

Thanks PWPenguin! A gal from another thread recommended bringing an entire roast chicken as well as a big cheery salad...sounds like an easy & delicious plan.
I have begun walking 30 minutes at lunch every other day. Yay me! My sister sent me a funny quote yesterday that is worth sharing:
"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch."
Have a great weekend all!
One for each 5 lbs so far...

I went to see the movie Joyful Noise with a group from my Bible study. It was good, I'm a sucker for a happy ending! The music was fabulous with a mix of styles and genres.
Made my usual pizza tonight
NE, weekends are a cause for much celebration around here, too!!!
Andrew, when i'm 'walking funny' because of a workout I always want to wear a big sign so people know I'm this way from a workout., and not that I fell because I'm a klutz!
Gem, cute horse! one of yours? I roasted a chicken a few weeks ago and we got 4/5 meals out of it! I was so astonished!

Gem--- I saw that quote on pinterest. So true!
Penguin-- thanks for the movie review. The previews looked great but you never know.
We went out last night to celebrate dd's 17th birthday to Flemings (steakhouse). She wanted to do that in lieu of a party so we took her and three friends. I tried to make mostly good choices but it was all so good! Now I have to be an angel the rest of the weekend. Hopefully going to bikram yoga today which burns tons of calories! Also did the stair stepper for 40 minutes before dinner which had me dripping!!

so I did great all week. Staying between 1100 and 1300 calories but on Thursday I had 1600 calories and Friday 1800. I got on the scales this morning expecting at least 1 pound loss since I had 2 high days and I had gained 2 pounds!!! (no exercise except for riding my bike 4.5 miles X 2.) I get so discouraged over things like this and it just makes me wanna binge

memoree-- please don't get discouraged! Depending on what you ate, it could easily be sodium. If so, flush it out and it will be gone in a few days. Or could be TOM? So many things are possible. Binging will not help!

Hello everyone I am enjoying reading your posts. I have dieted all my life and am in fact addicted to dieting or was, I am on/off the wagon? I am keeping track using points from WW although it is just a way to track. I do journal food. I plan on going to aquafitness twice a week and to walk at least half an hour a day on the other days. This is a new beginning. I want to eat clean food most of the time and to love life all of the time.
I will weigh in on Wednesday.

thanks Michelle. I cleaned house (as in Spring cleaned although it's not Spring, we have 8 inches of snow on the ground It kept me busy so I wouldn't think about the gain.
I had fertility treatments and gained 50 pounds that I haven't gotten off since I gained it in 2006. I will lose about 20 pounds around Spring/Summer and regain it during the winter. I do it every year.I never had weight problem til I moved North and I'm diabetic. I just get so frustrated.

TOM is about to start but I feel like I'm still PMSing from last month!
Michele, there was a little 'language' in the movie but overall pretty clean.
Pear, welcome, glad to have you join us.
Memoree, I have to keep reminding myself that I really will be warmer if I get up and move around than sitting still, huddled under blankets, on the couch!

Decent weekend eating wise. I had a few girl scout cookies, but only a few. I didn't get any workout in at all, and yesterday I did stuff but was mostly sedentary. I hurt so bad over the weekend. I'm finally better today so will be back on the treadmill tonight. I'm down another pound, so I'm making progress. Finally got DW headed in the right direction and she's down 5 pounds in 2 weeks as well. Now she's sick though. Always a challenge.

Had an AWESOME visit with my SIL and one of her best friends. Took my 12 yr old over to the Seattle area and saw Cavalia ("an Equestrian Ballet" - dreamchild of one of the founders of Cirque du Soliel)...it was breathtaking! It was so beautiful and overwhelming I sat there with my mouth hanging open and forgot to clap!
PWPenguin - Yes, the horse in my avatar pic is my darling draft-cross mare "Secret" (a 15.3 hh, 1400 lb "secret" which always makes me laugh). I am going riding for the first time since early December this evening and I can't wait! Bad weather, a shoulder injury and 20 excess pounds have kept me unmotivated for two months, but not anymore!
Taking a salad & roast chicken to my SIL's worked like a charm...I stayed on my eating plan (Ideal Protein), drank seltzer water when the other adults were having wine, and had my "chocolate soy puffs" while everyone else was pigging on buttered popcorn at Cavalia. For an added bonus, we took a beautiful 3 mile walk around Lake Tapps.
 Happy Monday all...time for work!
