Tues, Dec 27
B=2 c milk, vits, 1/2 apple
L= leftover salad w chicken + 2 dove
D= 1/4 {2 slices] homemade steak and peppers pizza {sauce made out of spicy ranch and steak sauce, chedder, peppers, onion, steak}. I tried a Pillbury roll-out pizza dough but I'll go back to the old way.
S= 4 dove, grapes, 1 c milk
E= 36min cardio/weights
We went to Krogers to pick up a few things and found they had their Christmas stuff 50% off. I got new slippers for $9 and a Red Lodge enamel dutch oven for $40. Since we've decided to eat at home more often, I've decided to upgrade some of my kitchen stuff. Last week I bought a new knife/block set, we wrapped the steak knives to put under the tree, but are already using the rest of the set. I made pizza tonight topped with leftover steak and was able to cut the thinnest slices.
We were able to let April outside by herself for the first time since her surgery, I was watching by the window and she seemed more confused than anything else, but eventually she trotted off to sniff something.
Guac, the videos sound like an interesting idea. I hope you are feeling better, now that the holidays are coming to a close it will be easier to get back on plan.

Hi, patch! Sounds like you got some great deals at the store! I love new knives - mine are pretty dull right now, but sharp knives make preparing food a pleasure!
Went to the doc today. Glad to get the appointment over with. I couldn't bring myself to look at the scale so I don't know how much it showed, but when the nurse was entering my current weight into the computer, she exlaimed over my weight loss. She asked how I had done it and I told her eating more whole foods and less processed foods - which is the basic answer. She told me I was going to be her inspiration! So, I guess the numbers don't lie - even though I still have a long way to go.
The doctor didn't comment on my weight and she didn't give me the nutrition talk this time. However, she did ask if I exercise at all and talked about the importance of mobility and good health - so that brought me back down to earth just in case I was feeling too smug about myself!
So, the bottom line is that I still have a distance to travel, but that I have made progress...

Hello! Doing ok today - still feeling a sense of relief that my doc appointment is over! Currently, I am fighting an evil foe called - Ghirardelli! My husband got a large bag of Ghirardelli chocolates from work, and OMG! I haven't craved chocolate for a long time, but these are good! I was indulging yesterday evening and this morning. I don't think I will be safe until the bag is finished - hopefully not by me! I know that I am packing on the pounds...but at least it's worth it!

Thurs, Dec 29
B= 2 c milk, vits
L= slice pizza + 1/2 apple
D= baked potato + leftover broc cheese soup+ extra cheese + bacon slice
S= 1/2 apple + pb, 4 Dove + pb
E= 70min cardio/lower body + 7 yoga
I felt I had too much to eat yesterday so I tried to cut back today. I did the 70min in to seperate workouts around 30 each.
Guac, can you hide the bag somewhere out if sight...even better get your Hubby to hide it from you? I find I do better if the food isn't staring at me, daring me to eat it.

patch - I am so impressed by your exercise routine!
Well, I think I am safe from the rest of the chocolate - because I ate all my favorites! Ugh!
Now onto a scientific/medical perspective. I have been overindulging in sugar and salty foods this last week. Suddenly, my muscle aches are coming back full force, joint pain, bad headaches in the morning. I am back to taking 2 Ibuprofen every morning as if they were a daily multivitamin! I was just realizing 2 weeks ago that I never have to take Advil or have headaches anymore. I never wake up in the middle of the night with joint pain or muscle aches.
Now I see how much of a role diet plays in my daily health and comfort. Interesting...

Guac, now that you've figured this out it can work as greater motivation to stay away from over-indulging.

Hi everyone. I'm just getting started on my journey for weight loss....dealing with the food first. I have about 45 pds to lose. I'm excited because I'm getting my treadmill this Friday, so then I'll be able to start the cardio part of it. I use to have a treadmill once before and was successful with it, so I am hoping for the same this time around. As far as eating goes, so far I've cut out all the sugar in my morning coffee. I'm drinking mostly all water w/the occasional glass of tea. I'm eating more fruits such as cuties. And eating more veggies for lunch like brocolli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. And as far as dinner...just using portion control aka not overeating. I'm not doing perfect, but doing better than where I was before I started. Trying to take babysteps. And when I start the treadmill, I hope that will be the icing on the cake.

Back after the holidays. Avoiding the scale until things settle down. Still eating too much, but really working on not eating at night. Doing the stairs at work and getting to the gym most days. Working from home today, so I'll be able to make it to Zumba tonight. Have been eating healthier in general, but still too much.

Well I did it...finally got my treadmill today. And already done 25 minutes on it today. I just hope I can stay motivated enough to do it 4 or 5 days a week. I don't want to push it, so I'm going to start out with 4 days a week at 25 minutes and then go up from there. Eating better, still not perfect, but decent. Today, I had oatmeal, then brocolli for lunch and having a regular dinner...spaghetti...not going to overeat....in moderation. Hopefully this will be enough for some good changes to get me started.
