Monday going okay here. Not feeling all that well for some reason. Weird body aches. I may just rest this evening.

I'll be eating healthy all week. May make my summer veg saute tonight if I feel like it. If not, Egg Beater omelet.

Feeling bloated and yucky...TOM. Had craving for chocolate and gave in to some chocolate chip cookies that my hubby bought yesterday. Does anyone know if Morningstar veggie products are dietetic meal options (e.g. Grillers veggie burgers, italian sausage links, etc.)?

Hey, Guac, I don't know much about the products you mentioned. Just be sure and check the sodium content on them. Seems like I checked into them when I started on this lifestyle change and the calorie count wasn't all that much less than the meat products. If you like them and they fit into your plan, go for it!

Hi there - doing ok on day 3 of a low carb diet. I am trying to stay on plan as much as possible. I have done well on this before (lost 50 lbs and kept it off for 3 years until I started to eat carbs again) and know my body generally responds ok. I remember now the strange blend of being stricktly low carb, but having cheese when I needed something, especially in the first few weeks. Anyway, I will be as strict as I can as I think it will work.

Love love LOVE the Morningstar products! Especially the breakfast sausage patties and the corn dogs. Not a vegetarian, but I eat them because they tend to be lower in cals, they're convenient, and they taste great!

BTW--I make a bfast sandwich with the sausage patty, an egg (or substitute) and some cheese on a whole wheat english muffin. Very filling for under 300 cals and loads of protein to keep you going.

Hey all! Crazy around here. Good food and good exercise so far. I did allow myself a treat: The office bought ice cream sandwiches for everyone as it is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! Thought I would indulge.

I think it is important to treat ourselves every now and then. I do like the Morningstar products. I guess moderation is the key, as with anything.

Annie- I didn't know it was national ice cream sandwich day, it's actually good we have no more left in the freezer. LOL

Walked 30min & had 1376 calories. Made light & spicy scalloped sweet potatoes tonight, it was so good I had two servings. Put me over my limit, all healthy food at least.

Yikes! Ran into someone today who was at the overeaters anonymous meeting I went to. Turns out, she is a teacher at my kid's school! She apparently recognized me! I totally did not have a clue who she was. She started asking me if I liked the meeting or had any questions, etc. She was very nice, but for some reason, I felt kind of embarrassed. I mean, I do want to remain anonymous at an overeaters anonymous meeting!

Guac,
I know what you mean about anonymity, - this should be respected. Of the vices I have indulged in over the years, however, being overweight is the hardest to hide. It is also the only one I have left. I guess it is tough to be a closet fat person! Although now that I think about it, isn't that what my denial was for! LOL

B= milk vits
L= Brat, cheese slice, salad
S= Choc chips {TOM related, but not a good excuse...}
S= peach
D= homemade veggie soup, bread/butter
S= apple w PB
E= 20min cardio/weights with Leslie

At least I felt better today and didn't sleep all day. I'm snuffly so I think that was allergy related.

Guac, hopefully she was just trying to be friendly and helpful

FL, scallopped sweet potatoes sounds very goodl

National ice cream sandwhich day.... really?? lol

I bought the cow brand of those from costco once they are really good, but not if you eat 5 at once.

So this is our august post then, got lost yesterday.

Recovering from my camping weekend, doing well so far.

I have always been a closet eater, I learned very young that people make fun of you if you eat in front of them, I remember being 10 and strawberry picking with my kids group at church and one of the girls made a comment about me eating a few of the strawberries. I felt so embarrassed and ashamed at that age it was just strawberried for goodness sake. Then once when I was 12 and camping with family i went to eat a marshmellow and my mom said 'do you really need that'. Those two comments pretty much set me for life of being extrememly careful what I would eat in front of people. It is okay to eat to much at a restaruant because when you order a meal it is like the size of a meal for 2 and nobody notices if you finish your meal, I dunno why i felt so degraded by those comments it horrified me really. So if I am left home alone I can be tempted to overeat cause no one is there to see it but when i was single for 10 years nobody was ever home and I was so lonely food became my freind. A few of those years were so painful i just went to work came home ate watched tv and went to bed, i had teens at the time so they pretty much had thier own life. I feel like this secret addict I am so sick of it.

One day at a time right. I did learn alot from attending AA meeting with my hubby and just applied the principles to food.

That is my vent for the day.

Hello and Greetings for NJ,
I am new to this, but not new to dieting. I am a fat chick, and over 40. lol
Well I am now doing something about the fat part. lol Started WW Monday, and its my second day and I am feeling good. I like the new program so far, and I feel its something I can live with for the rest of my life. I currently live in a household of all men. Need I say more? 2 step sons, 17 and 20 and a husband who loves to cook. I come from an Italian family and never knew what the word "portion Size" meant. lol
I used to be skinny. But I will get there. Never did anything like this before, but it would be great to get some female support for us fat and forty something chicks!
Take Care

Carissah- Welcome!
ashley- i got lost with this thread too!
patch- thanks, the sweet potatoes turned out wonderful!

Went over calories again by 160. Can't seem to stay in my range lately, I think it's all this new food I'm adding to my diet. I lost almost 3 lbs since the bad eating weekend, all clean food is key for me, even if I go over calories. Cooked all night again, even made a hot fudge pudding cake from scratch cause my daughter wanted it. I wasn't even tempted to try it, that's weird for me!
