Default Eye Opener

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but have posted on the site on and off for a while. Ugh. I hate to admit that I"m in my 40s, but I am!

Anyway, I had a real eye opener today. My weight has been really bothering me lately. I just feel uncomfortable. Anyway, today I went to donate blood and see if my blood marrow would be needed to save the life of a woman's son.

Because of my weight, I didn't qualify. I felt sad for the child, sad for myself. What if I am the one person he needed and I couldn't do it because food is more important?

Ugh. Will I ever do this? How can tomorrow be different than every other day.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Curve - tomorrow can be different by saying it will be and following up with every food choice you make - will things go perfectly? Heck no but the more things that you that align with a healthy eating plan the more steps forward toward your goal you make. Maybe it's just packing a healthy lunch for a week - or maybe it's adding two veggies to dinner every night and cutting some of the other stuff out ... sometimes overhauling everything at once is such a mental block - that doing one thing at a time is what we can handle easier! You CAN do this - that was your straw that broke the camel's back moment - it sounds like ... and what a selfless way to have that happen - how kind and generous!

Don't give up! This time I think is different for me than the others. I know my limitations and I know I'm going to mess up....so if i do, i don't say screw it and just trash the entire day or week. Give yourself a break every now and then! You can do it!
