Default Turned 45 yesterday

And feeling reflective. You know, one step closer to 50 than 40 now.

I am trying to puzzle out what keeps me from succeeding with weight loss and I wrote a ton about it this morning on my blog if you are interested. It's thenextrightchoice.blogspot.com and I am finding that by digging deep and soul searching I may be finally setting myself up to WIN (and lose? hehe)

Anyway, I plan to read a lot. Have already enjoyed reading for hours here and I'm a newbie!!

Best of luck to everyone!

Welcome Carlyweb! I just re-connected here myself after nearly a year absence. I hear you about the birthday--mine's coming up early January (I'll be 47--I cannot believe I'm anywhere near that old, and seeing that number is just freaking me out!) I did lose quite a bit with support from this website among other reasons, but then life got in the way and I stopped doing most everything that was working for me and now.....fighting to get back to where I was and continue onward to my goal!

I know we can do it. It just really bites that our age (metabolism) keeps trying to sabotage our efforts, haha!.....

Happy Birthday Carlyweb! I am in my last two months of being 45. Except fot the weight and food issues, I have been enjoying it. Love the empty nest but love having the kids and thier families live 5 min away too. It use to be 11 hours away so happy about that.
I would also love to get the food thing under control so I can live life instead of the food controlling my life. I am tired of food being the boss of me...... sounds like a little kid telling thier older sibling off.... well food you are no longer the boss of me!!!

Happy Birthday! Ah, no worries Age is just a number. Think of yourself like a FINE wine or AGED cheese, besides with age comes wisdom?! I'll be 44 this year, but I still feel like I'm 18 & I certainly don't act my age either! Welcome & best of luck with the soon new & improved YOU!

Happy Bday..I will be 44 next month...not happy about it but not going to think too much about it either. Life is what you make it and age is just a number.

Hi Carlyweb. I turned 45 last August, and was also quite reflective and weepy about it - which was strange for me because I have never been a "number" girl! I think it was the realization that I am middle-aged, that my babies are growing up (my oldest turned 18, my youngest was turning 10, and just the overall realization that life was moving on. However, I think 45 has also given me a reason to get fit and healthy and lose weight. I want to approach my 50's being fit and fabulous, so I guess you could say I'm turning it into motivation!

Hey I turned 46 the day before yesterday. I always find my birthday's hard but I think it has more to do with the time of year than anything else. Just overload so soon after the holidays.

I think it is easier to deal with growing older if we feel fit and fabulous!!!
