Default The Hormone Diet

I've been struggling with this crazy plateau for well over a year now. I've tried things that have worked for me before, I've tried new things, I've tried things I said I'd never try, LOL!

But being in perimenopause & having so many wildly unnameable cravings, I thought maybe my hormones might just be really outta whack. Soooo..... I got wind of this book "THE HORMONE DIET" (Rodale Books) and decided to take the "are your hormones outta whack?" test... and guess what? THEY REALLY ARE. It claims that the weight that JUST.WILL.NOT.BUDGE! -no matter how much you exercise/diet... can be due to our hormones being crazy off-balance, and that by balancing your hormones, you will lose weight, sleep better, have better sex life (hey, that never hurts, LOL!) etc.

And so....I got the book & started reading it yesterday. I'm on chapter 5 now - just wondering if anyone else has heard of it, tried it, or willing to try it? So far, it's making a lot of physically scientific sense, and I see myself in a lot of the definitions. Ack.

Hi, yes, I used to be able to shed weight so easily, now its a real struggle. I have some hormonal issues and have learnt that estrogen has a LOT to do with difficulty in shedding fat - at any age but especially in your 40... I'm currently reading "The Anti-Estrogenic Diet" by Ori Hofmekler and a lot of what he says makes sense.

Keep up the fight,
Cashue
