suki - haven't read the book but caught the story on Oprah a while back and it made a pretty serious impression on me since I'm still thinking and talking about it - too funny that you've read it! Hey - if nothing else, cleaning out the cupboards (or whatever) keeps me from snacking! I'm curious about the relapse thread too - will check it out....

Hi all,

I have been really struggling this month. Mostly I got freaked about school and then I got out of the habit coming here and then I got out of the habit eating healthy and then I started to feel bad about my progress so I started to......you may be familiar with the spiral.

Anyway I am at 179 which is 5lbs down from when we started the Halloween Challenge. Not a win but not making me crawl in a hole to hide either.

Have we decided on the next challenge. I am up for a short one till thanksgiving followed by a one at new years. I gotta have some focus through the holidays.

Going to get the DD's driving permit today!

Thinking of all of you. Let's do this!! LOL Love the carrot.

inthemidst - 5lbs is great! You're not giving yourself very much credit!

And thanks for starting the thxgiving thread - look forward to hanging out with you guys there!

I'm at 160 so I made my goal for this challenge but I have a feeling things will be slowing down a bit. Hope you all are happy with your results!

Nope, not happy. But I did it to myself and learned something in the process about what happens when "goal is met" mentality creeps in. I'm going to be in real trouble when I do make the switch to maintenance unless I figure it out. More accountability!

I'm about 3 pounds down from where we started, and 2 pounds over the goal I actually hit on 10/14 and couldn't hold.

So ... onward to Thanksgiving!

My goal was to reach 225, but I only made it to 227.5 (although I did see 226 on the scale last week!). I was still pretty new at this when I set the goal -- now I know that half a pound a week is more realistic than a pound a week. That's helpful!

Happy Halloween!

Congrats on all your good work everyone. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving...

I have to get myself back on track. Many setbacks. I bought 3 bags of Halloween candy and had zero trick or treat-ers....and I have eaten all the candy. Actually I ate some of it before Halloween. This is my confessional :-(
