Hi all, nice to be here, learning and reading along!

First name: Rae

Geographical location: The snowy north east

Age: 46 and how did that happen???

Marital Status: Married

Children/Ages: 23 18 13

Occupation: Free lance web marketing on an occasional basis. Homemaker

Pets: 3 Dogs 3 cats plus horses I'm too fat to ride

Hobbies/Interests: horses, tech user, and self improvement

Height: 5'7"

Eye/Hair Color: blonde green

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: January 20, 2017 (this time around)

Starting Weight: *sigh 277 and how did THAT happen!

Goal Weight: 170 (Mini goal 220 by April 15 for vacation)

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Evening munchies and asthma

Following any specific plan: Lazy southbeach. ie low carbs lowish fats looking for protein in all food choices

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I bought a workout machine and I'm using it. First time no scrip diet drugs also.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I am attacking this goal in an obsessive fashion that will likely lead to unhealthy mistakes. I'm here hoping to learn patience and get support when I feel stalled. I feel stalled already. Down 12 pounds so far but playing cat and mouse daily with two of those pounds. They are making me angry. Hunger is also making me hangry. Never been hungry like this on a diet.

Default Hello :)

Hello Everyone,

Geographical location: Utah

Age: 42

Marital Status: Married for 10 years

Children: 1 amazing son who is 24

Pets: too many to mention

Hobbies: animal lover, yogini, outdoors lover, beach lover, sun lover

Height: 5'5"

175/175/155

Biggest hurdles in weightloss: NIGHT cravings!!!!!!

Following any specific plan: Better food choices and portion control

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I really need to get my eating/cravings under control. I want to feel healthy.

Anything else to share: I am new to this site and really hope it is what I have been missing.

I have been on a yo yo course for the last 10 years . I was a gym rat for several years, I didn’t work just went to the gym every day and kept my body in shape.

In 2009 I had some health issues and had to stop going for a while. I ended up needing a complete hysterectomy and proceeded to wallow in self pity and gained 75 pounds. Too embarrased to go back to my gym (obviously) so I joined Curves. I ended up getting a job there after losing about 60 pounds and loved being around like minded women.

Eventually, I needed a bit more so I joined a bigger gym, started getting my feet wet with running and lost another 25 pounds. I ran several races over 2 years and then became injured.

I haven’t been able to run for a little over 2 years now and have succeeded in gaining a lot of belly fat (and lots of other weight too) I haven't stopped going to the gym and have added more yoga into my routine.

My biggest problem without a doubt is eating!!! I don’t eat much during the day, toast and coffee for breakfast, sandwich and veggies for lunch and then HOLY CRAP… I am a crazy person ALL NIGHT LONG!!

I need support in a BAD way. I know I probably gave WAY TOO much info but I’m hoping I can find several people who share my struggle and I hope that I can become a more healthy eater. I have my son's graduation in May in Annapolis and would love to look healthy and thinner when I go.

Thank you,
Meems

Children/Ages: 1/19

Occupation: Funding Analyst (desk jockey)

Pets: 1 chi mix, 1 blue tick hound

Hobbies/Interests: cooking, reading, theological study, shooting pool

Height: 5'3"

Eye/Hair Color: Blue/Blonde (why does this matter? lol)

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 1999

Starting Weight: 250

Goal Weight: 160

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Motivation

Following any specific plan: Not really, I just eat a well rounded clean diet, but I also eat gluten free due to sensitivities

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I don't know really. I just want to be healthy and around for a long time.

Anything else you would like to share with us: A few favorite supplements that I will not live without: MSM (4000mg/day, minimum) taken with Vit C (gently and naturally detoxifies (without sending you to the bathroom, lol) and allows your individual cells to function properly so that they do not turn into abnormal cells (leading to cancer). MSM helps Vit C cross that barrier to obliterate abnormalities (it is used in conjuction with conventional cancer treatments because of its amazing ability to make chemo more effective and help the patient have less side effects/damage to good cells. So why not use as a preventative? Plus I feel great since using it! Got rid of my chronic fatigue! among many other great effects, just ask!). Femtone--it is fantastic! This one is a recent discovery when trying to regulate "Aunt Flo" naturally, because she had suddenly become a severely painful burden that extended her visits to over a week! The pain was so severe that I would be disabled for about a week because the pain would not allow me to move. Femtone has saved my life--no more pain, and everything is perfectly normal now. And if I do have any lingering minor discomfort, I take a Cramp Bark & Ginger supplement and experience zero discomfort. Works better than any otc pain reliever I've tried! Lastly is MSM/Vit C lotion. It is a face lotion, and I decided to try it because MSM is a good carrier of nutrients across barriers. What I accidentally discovered is that it is the perfect sunblock! I had put this on my face in the morning, went swimming in the afternoon without putting any sunblock or anything on, and while my shoulders burnt, my face was untouched! Not even any slight of pink! Then I put the lotion on my shoulders hoping it would help the burn, by the next morning IT WAS COMPLETELY GONE. No burn, no pain, no peeling, no nothing. Like I had never been in the sun! It is amazing! I would like to add that I do not sell any of these products, I am simply a research queen and have discovered some really amazing things! And if this info can also help others, then I am doubly blessed!

Hey everyone, good to be here

First name: It starts with a J (hence the "Jay" username)

Geographical location: Iceland

Age: 44

Marital Status: Married 8 years to my best friend and lover who loves me exactly as I am, extra lbs or not

Children/Ages: 1 daughter, 18 years old

Occupation: System administration (IIS, DFS, databases, software, servers etc.)

Pets: Jupiter, the cat

Hobbies/Interests: Very very interested in everything hormone related and digestive system related. By now I could probably have a detailed conversation with specialists in this field, been reading and learning for almost 5 years now

Height: 5.4-5 (163-164 cm)

Eye/Hair Color: Grey with a hint of green

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: No particular date, it started out slow about a year ago

Starting Weight: 213 lbs. was the last number I saw before I couldn't take it anymore and stopped weighing myself. So I probably went up a little further than this

Goal Weight: I want to go back to my ideal weight of 65 kg. (143-4 lbs), that's what I weighed around 30 years old and that's also when I felt the best

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: not knowing exactly how the human body works, that's now a lifelong commitment, getting to know my own body like that instead of relying on (mis)information of others

Following any specific plan: 5:2

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: This time I'm not in a hurry, it will happen in time. I plateau regularly and that doesn't bother me at all anymore. The way I look at it now is that my body is just "settling in" so I just let myself be during the time it takes. Sometimes it's just a few days, sometimes 1-2 weeks.

Anything else you would like to share with us: Losing weight doesn't have to be hard, stressfull, painful or anything of that sort. My body is my friend and we're in this together, that's all it is.
