Hi there! I used to post on the 100 forum, but I'm finding now that I'm in my "magical" 40s, weight loss isn't as easy and rewarding as it used to be; I need a new group.
Here are my deets:
First name: Christine
Geographical location: Ontario, Canada
Age: 43
Marital Status: Happily married to a very supportive, loving, ACTIVE guy.
Children/Ages: 2 kids. DD is 16, DS turns 14 this weekend
Occupation: Yes
Pets: 2 cats
Hobbies/Interests: Reading, cats, Zumba, going to beachy places for vacation, running a little bit, red wine (too much)
Height: A towering 5'3
Eye/Hair Color: Blue eyes, brown and blonde hair with a soupçon of silver
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 2007?
Starting Weight: 236 (first time I was brave enough to weigh myself in '07. I'm certain it was higher)
Goal Weight: 160 would be nice, but I'd be okay with 170 (I'm 170 or more in my profile picture)
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Myself? I don't generally have a Positive Mental Attitude. If the scale doesn't move, I get discouraged.
Following any specific plan: No. Just trying to eat right and stay active. Winter is VERY hard for me.Too cold and snowy to run outside, and it's too cold and snowy for me to want to leave the house. My snowshoes are gathering dust...
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My hormones, I guess. Or lack thereof. Cutting bread way down and staying away from sweets since January 2 has made no difference. I really hold on to weight nowadays.
Anything else you would like to share with us: Okay, I have lost weight successfully in the past, getting down to 161. I pretty much plateaued there and got discouraged. I put 10 lbs on and stayed there for a long time; I was pretty happy there. I was eating well, and exercising a lot and staying relatively toned and cute. Then I went to MX with my mum and she got REALLY sick. Like 3 weeks in Mexican hospital sick. I started stress eating and put on noticeable weight in that time (I stayed in MX while she was in hosp). Long story short, she's fit as a fiddle now, but just as I was sort of getting back into my groove, my BROTHER ended up in intensive care with blood clots in his lungs. More stress. Of course as all this is happening, I'm getting older and my ovaries aren't pulling their weight anymore (sorry, TMI?) I'm at 197 now and pretty desperate to get my weight going down again. The "only" stress I have right now is that my husband may be going on strike and his dad is dying. Other than that, good times. /sarc Srsly though, other than the unknown, life is good. I have a nice little family, a nice little house, and a good job.

Reason: I only have blue eyes, not blue hair
So the last entry was in 2010...so four and 1/2 years later, I'm going to post.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: No husband.
Anything else you would like to share with us: It may sound like I'm happy to be divorced. On a logical level I realize I am much better off. On an emotional level I am a complete wreck. I actually have to schedule crying time. But when I am really pissed off I go hit the gym. Definitely making a difference.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Tired of being overweight. Tired of clothes looking like crap. Tired of my joints hurting.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I need to be held accountable. If I can find a reason to go off this diet, I will. Some backup will be nice to have and greatly appreciated!

Following any specific plan: Low Carb
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm committed to a slow journey this time. Of course I would love to lose quickly but I would rather lose slowly and steadily than not at all.
Anything else you would like to share with us: This is my first day checking out this particular group. I have a lot to lose so I usually hang around the 100 lb group. Today I also joined a challenge on the challenge board.
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Another "this time?" May 20, 2015
Starting Weight: 215.8
Goal Weight: 150
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Eating well.
Following any specific plan: Currently I'm planning my transition out of Weight Watchers. I've been a member for the majority of the past 7 years (I left a couple times). I've been following the Simply Filling Plan, which emphasizes lean proteins, veggies, and fruits.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm not sure. I know I'm done having children, so that's something.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I turned 40 in March and I don't know if my metabolism has just dropped that dramatically with age or what. About 2 years ago I had gotten down to the low 190s and thought I would continue on that track, but I just keep going up or maintaining. I go to the gym regularly and sweat a lot! I'm now adding strength training as well. It's really frustrating!

Following any specific plan: Using a food log and exercise log
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My darling brother told me that the body you have at 50 is the one you will probably die with. That is motivation in a twisted sort of way.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I did this before, I think about 5 years ago. Lost down within 20 pounds of goal, and hit some roadblocks in life. Tracking got to be too much work. I HAVE to track!

Height:5'5
Eye/Hair Color:hazel
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey:June 20/15 (second time with IP)
Starting Weight:163.4

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss:I love food. I am a true foodie. I also dislike exercise...I mean i like it, its just hard to get moving, I am tired all of the time. My thyroid messes me right up and after a full tie job in an office then a second job waitressing....all the running around to baseball....I'm just tired.
Following any specific plan:Ideal Protein
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past:I did it before, but didn't go off program properly. I do exercise even though I dislike it....so after I get down to my goal I am going to push it and do a fitness photo shoot. It has been my dream to look that good again. I am not getting any younger....has to happen now!
Hi 40 somethings
I could use support.Age 43 next week and really want to drop this 25lbs.
I go good on myfitnesspal for 3-4 days then blow it with 1000 calorie overkill.I love to exercise but the more I do ,the more I overeat
