Numbness in toes while working out on elliptical...
Does anyone else have this problem? I am fine (mostly) if I do 30 min. Past that, my feet start to go numb from teh toes down. Is it the way I'm using the machine? My shoes? It goes away pretty instantly when I get off, but I was a little confused and worried I'm not doing something right.
I have the exact same problem. My trainer suggested that it's the way I (and now you) use the machine. When I do it I don't really move my feet. They are always in the same position on the machine, hence the numbness. I never have the problem with any other cardio machine. Sorry I have no solutions but at least you know you are not alone!
I hate the elliptical for that very reason - I do always keep my feet still and flat but within a few min the numbness sets in. Luckily, I do prefer the treadmill anyways so I just avoid the elliptical.
Thanks ladies.. and milmin, thanks for the article. I figured it was something about the way I was standing. We'll try it again today and see what happens.
I never could get the numbness to stop on the ellliptical...until I stopped wearing shoes on it. Now that I get on there either barefoot or in my socks I never get numb toes...of course you can only do that if you have your own elliptical, lol.
MOnte cristo.... Interesting. I have a set of Vibram Five fingers... maybe I should give those a try on it next time. Thanks!
I've been watching how I use the machine, and it just doesn't seem to matter. They still go numb. I'll try the Five Fingers either tomorrow or next week (I've been every day this week. I think the weekend might be a good time to take a break)
