Default It's the little things

Just by burning an extra 100 calories per day, you can lose 5lbs more by New Year's. What does this mean?

Climbing stairs for 6 minutes a day.

I thought this was incredible. Just by climbing up and down from work or school, or walking a little bit extra per day, an extra 5 pounds can be eliminated. Amazing.

What are the little things you do, and how do they add up?

I have an office job. I walk to the bathroom 2 times an hour even if I don't have to go. Or I walk to the kitchen to get water rather than use the cooler by my desk.

I like to do punches on my couch when we're watching TV. DH thinks I'm crazy but every little bit counts, right?

When I go to the store, I actually fight to get the FURTHEST parking spot so I'm forced to take extra steps to and from my car. (Not to mention all the walking while in the store.)

Where I work, my warehouse is on the 1st floor. So I race the stock elevator everytime I send stuff up. I generally win

I have a daycare in my daylight basement. I have to take 18 stairs to get down there. I go up and down those stairs AT LEAST 20 times a day if not more. This stat makes me very happy!!!!!!

I get outside and play with my kids. Case in point: my youngest son who's six finally learned to ride a bike without training wheels today but for the past few days, it's been me holding the back of his bike and running behind him for like two hours. I'm sweating like crazy, lol. Not only am I getting a mini-workout in but spending some quality time with the little guy as well.
