Halfway to goal
After three and a half months of dieting, I am pleased to announce that I am losing weight steadily at 1lb/week, have kept to my plan without any problems (apart from suddenly having to reduce my fat intake when I turned out to have active gallstones), and at 122lb am now halfway to goal. I'm just into the healthy BMI range, although I recently started measuring and discovered that my waist-hip ratio is dreadful. Still, I do at least appear to be losing inches, and it gives me something to answer with if people ask me why I want to continue losing weight when I'm at a healthy BMI, plus it's less personal than explaining about how I still get PMDD at this weight but didn't when I was thinner.
My clothes are looser - I really hope that belts continue to work for me until I reach goal, I can't afford interim new clothes! - I feel happier, I'm no longer afraid to look in the mirror, and it's really wonderful to feel that despite having a severe medical condition which affects every aspect of my life, I can finally control something about my body again.
Meanwhile, back to staving off PMDD for today. Gah.

Congratulations! I always enjoy your posts & your sensible approach to weight loss. I know that with your medical condition, you have to stick to plan consistently to lose weight... So kudos to you for finding what works, & then doing it. Keep it up!

Good job! It's difficult enough trying to lose weight, but doing it successfully with health issues can be near impossible. Congratulations on your success!

Thank you everyone! I have decided to treat myself to a couple of pairs of trousers, having realised that even though I'm limited to one brand for winter trousers and one brand for summer trousers (as my partner concludes, I must have an oddly-shaped bottom), I can still find them cheaply on eBay.
Sumire - what a lovely thing to say!
Snorkelmom, being ill is what put me off trying to lose weight for years, but the odd thing is that once I started it was surprisingly easy. I think I have some advantages, for instance I'm at home all day so there are no problems controlling what I eat or keeping records of it. While it's annoying having gained weight due to chaotic schedules and memory problems, it's much easier to deal with that (just keeping records of what I eat, basically) than it would be to deal with food addiction or similar issues.

Thank you again!
Minor announcement: I finally managed to get my MedHelp tracker linked up here, and you can visit it via the link in my signature. It does nice little graphs of my weight, BMI, calorie consumption, and measurements.
