What are your thoughts on Almond Breeze milk
I've been using Almond milk even before I started IP in June and was wondering if anyone else uses it here. I drink the unsweetened kind and these are the stats: per 1 cup serving
40 cal
3.5g fat
2g carbs
1g fiber
0 sugars
Ingrediants are: filtered water, almonds, tapioca, starch, calcium carbonate, sea salt, potassium citrate, carrageenan, sunflower lecithin and natural flavor
I tend to cheat more using this in my 2-3 cups of coffee/day
So what are your thoughts?

I think it will be ok when you are in phase IV, but otherwise it is not protocol.

Well I'm sure we will find answers on here. My coach never seems to know the answers to my questions.

Have you asked your Coach about Almond Breeze? I have no idea what to think. It's not on my sheet for phase I. Pretty sure that's the clue.

I would say no, because of the chance it will stimulate the insulin release even tho it's low in carbs. The starch may be an issue, but since it's not on the phase one sheet I would agree it's out.
I am quite certain it would be fine on phase 3. I started phase 3 two days ago, and it is WONDERFUL. A bit scary, but nice.

I've been thinking about you and wondering if you started phasing off in preparation for your trips. How is it going?

I would say in P1, Almond milk is out. I used to use it as a milk alternative before IP and would say that in P4 there will be a place for it, but not in P1. If it is not on the sheet, don't eat it (or drink it, in this case)

yes it isn't for phase 1 but maybe phase 4, but you say you are going to use it as a cheat? every day? 2 or 3 times? Please don't I don't want to see you stall or go off protocol... your health is worth more. Please reconsider.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I've been losing weight every week since starting in mid June but I know it could go faster and maybee the milk isn't helping it either. i"m sitting here now drinking a cup of coffee this morning with almond milk. This will be my last one for awhile and see what happens. You guys are great.
Thanks

Hi girl81,
I"m sorry to say that I haven't been able to cut down much on my almond milk because I"m on vacation right now and do enjoy my morning coffees and reading my emails and this site so Almond milk is still in my life but I"m still losing every week besides last week because I went away on vacation and went off protocol for a few days. On my WI I was up 2.6lbs and I knew that I would be so that was ok, considering what I ate, lol. But have been back on OP since last Thursday with still some little cheats because I"m still on vacation and have lost the 2.6 gain and hopefully another pound maybee by next weigh in. So I really don't think that the Almond milk really hinders my weight loss so will probably stick with it.
