It is kind of embarrassing to admit this but I have over 100 lbs to lose. I'm thinking about trying low carb.. Going to be hard because I love my potatoes! lol.. Anyone try it or had success with it? Pros and Cons?

Hi 2 cute, I bet it was hard for you as it was for me to put are self out here! I too need to lose over 100! and I'm on day three of The Sonoma diet, and its been a little hard, cause it is low carb and no sugar the first 10 days, no sugar!!! But I have researched this and it is the closest way to how I eat now, so I feel I can do this for life.
I have been yo yoing for 20 years and I just cant do it no more

I have never heard of that one! I am going to have to Google it! No sugar would be rough! Are you having headaches?

Hi to both of you. I saw your other post, too, lbell69. Welcome to the 100 pound club. I started in January and have lost 74 pounds so far - mostly by cutting carbs, watching calories, and exercise. The carb thing was hard at first, but cravings go away in about a month (from my experience.) Sugar cravings are gone, too.

You'll find a lot of information and support in here. Jump right in.

Welcome to the club. No need to be embarrassed here, we're all in the same situation, more or less. I'm a calorie counter, so can't really help you on the carbs thing, but you'll get tons of great advice from others, especially at the low carb pages. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for the welcome!! I'm happy to know that the sugar craving will subside. and its day 4 for me and I was up 1st thing to bet the heat, and take a walk. I have more energy today then I have had in weeks!! I haven't had any headaches just missing my sweet tea. I always drink lots of water, but love to have coffee and tea. This will be an adjustment to give up the sugar.

Thanks for the welcome! Right now I am going to try the low carb/calorie counting. I will weigh myself next Friday and see if there is any progress. I am so excited though and have so much motivation!

I'm doing the Dukan Diet, which is low carb and low fat. A very small amount of sugar that is naturally in foods (fat free dairy, vegetables and oat bran) but no other sugar at all (no grains or starches).

I found after the first few days, I pretty much never have cravings for sweets and it doesn't even bother me at all if others around me eat them.
