Default What would you bring?

If you were going on a picnic with your boyfriend / husband / SO ... what would you bring??? I've never been on a picnic before, and several things have crossed my mind. From my favorite dish Turkey Burgers, to a chicken recipe I saw on Rachael Ray. I've been looking at some of the goodies on Etsy too....

Anything really. So long as you pack it well it isn't a problem.

Though given the heat right now I'd probably pick something chilled and not a hot dish because where I live it's like 100 deg!

A.

i would bring....
Cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches (little sandwiches)
Fresh fruit
Deli meat with crackers and cheese..or peperoni sticks cut up with cheese and crackers..
Bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling apple champagne OR spakling water with fruit juice..
Mini muffins OR mini brownie bites for dessert..

This is based on what i would feed him...not me..cause on a diet those things wouldnt be allowed..but for him..he would eat it all!

My bf and I love to make sandwiches on picnics. We usually bring:
- gourmet cheese (boursin, smoked gouda, brie, goat's milk)
- huge loaf of crusty bread
- spreads: hummus, baba ghanoush, tapenade, cheese spreads, etc
- fresh cut deli meats (for him, i'm veg)
- avocado

We just tear off pieces of bread and make assorted sandwich bites with these combinations.... yum. Our favorite thing is to go to Whole Foods or Wegman's to their deli, cheese, and spreads bars and get a variety of things.

Also, would supplement it with lots of FRUIT (esp watermelon! such a great picnic food) and Blue Sky soda.

Aw, I miss picnics now! Too bad it's monsoon season here right now Happy picnicing!

I think it would be romantic to have a variety of fruits and cheeses for you to feed each other. Top it off with some sparkling cider or grape juice (or wine if you drink).

Awww... I've been on a couple of picnics/hikes before.

Sandwiches with deli meats or peanut butter are usually good.
Plenty of water, of course.
Hard cheeses & grapes. (Love that combination)
Nuts.
Don't forget a couple napkins, and maybe a small bag to put all the trash together if there will be any so you can toss it into a garbage can. (Don't wanna leave a mess outdoors!)

And a sturdy blanket for the ground.

Have fun!
