Red face So SICK of the 230's!

I had a baby 15 months ago and I've lost almost 50 lbs since then. I guess I've fallen into a slump. I think I would feel encouraged and fired up to get back on track if I could at least get under 230. I have been bouncing back and forth from 230 to 234 for months now. Anybody else? any tips?

My baby is 10 months old and I am at 234. Very close to you!

It's so tough to focus on myself when I have a baby to take care of. And she has been really sick this week, so she has been in my lap constantly.

But we don't give up, right? We CAN do this!

Thanks BellaLucia! It is so nice to belong to a forum where people actually talk to me!!!

BethBeth; I am sorry about your baby! I hope she gets well soon! I'm not going to give up! I hardly have a choice. He is so busy now!!! It's exhausting. Even on my "lazy days" I am chasing him every second!! He gets into EVERYTHING! He also helps with my workouts. For example today, I was doing pushups and he was draped over my back. I try to do crunches, and he sits on my stomach. He adds resistance! lol! And when I am playing dance central on the Kinect or doing a workout tape, he is dancing all around me! Not to mention he is such an awesome excuse to get out and go for long walks when the weather is nice. He loves it, and I get my exercise. =)

You can do it! Just plug away, day after day. I have several little ones, including my eight month old, hanging around, and I have personally found that while I love exercise, trying to focus on both that and my eating plan can be mentally too taxing, so I focus just on my calorie intake and any exercise is a sweet bonus. I make time for it, but feel no shame in putting that block in the afternoon aside for a nap or reading a book, either.

I'm down about 20 pounds from my postpartum weight and about 80 from my all-time high. Life constantly gets in the way of ideal weight loss, it's been about a three year process. All I can say is that, knowing that kids are busy and stressful, thongs won't be perfect and I CAN'T give up. If you do it long enough, it does indeed become second nature and doesnt take much more mental energy than the overeating I was doing before.

Your mileage may vary, but the best way I have found yo get out of weight doldrums is *dun dun DUN* losing my way out of them So simple, but not necessarily easy

This morning I was 230.1. Last week for about 10 minutes I actually saw 229.8 on the scale, but it sure didn't hang around long enough to celebrate. I have been in the 230's for longer than I care to admit. It's frustrating and annoying!

This week, I've decided to cut my calories by 50 to 100 a day and to ramp up the exercise. Fingers are crossed!

Good luck to all of you.
