JUNE Points challenge! (This has nothing to do with Weight Watchers)
JUNE CHALLENGE!! Well 2011 is just flying by and it's JUNE already. 2011 is going to be different...right? How's it going so far? Do you need some accountability? Join us for our monthly challenge!!! It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition.
Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points. That way you always know where you are and so do I!
For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!
Here is how it's going to go. Starting June 1, 2011. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.
2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way) Sorry, no 1/2 points.
Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.
This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!
Who's ready for a challenge????
Note: When I do the final totals at the end of the month, I only include people who have participated 15 days or more.

Mind if I join?!? This sounds like a good & fun way to stay accountable!
Food: Stay within 1400 - 1500 cals
Water: At least 2L daily
Exercise: Walk the dog 5x weekly + Core-strengthening 3x weekly

June 2, 2011 - 4 points
June 3, 2011 - 2 points (no exercise & not enough water)
June 4, 2011 - 2 points (no exercise & not enough water)
June 5, 2011 - 2 points (bad food...)
June 6, 2011 - 1 point (bad food & no exercise)

Food - GI Diet no calorie limit, just good choices according to the diet principles.
Water 6 - 8 glasses
Excercise - be active 5 days a week!

I'd like to join in! My goals will be changing throughout the month as I build, because I'm coming off a c-section and pneumonia recovery and just starting out. I hope that's okay!
Calories: Around 1700-1800 calories each day! (I may adjust this if I need to for nursing the baby!)
Water: 120 ounces each day
Exercise: For now, get out and MOVE every day- whether it's a walk, gym, or DVD workout. This will change in a couple weeks bc I'm just starting exercise post-csection this week.
1. 4 points!! (1850 cals total, 128oz water, and 1 hour workout)
2. 4 points! (1888 cals, 120oz water, and 1 hour walking)
3. 3 points! (1856 cals, 128oz water, no exercise)
4. 4 points! (1988 cals, 128oz water, 1 hour walking)
5. 3 points! (1883 cals, 128oz water, no exercise)
6. 4 points!! (1725 net cals, 128oz water, 40 minutes at the gym!)
7. 4 points! (1670 net cals, 128oz water, 20 minutes ab workout)

14. 1 measly point (2043 cals, 128oz water, no exercise) * I was STAHHVING today, seriously hungry, so I allowed myself to eat a second, healthy "mini" dinner. I'm very glad I did.
15. 4 points! (1760 cals... but then ran around cleaning/shopping for hours, 120oz water, 4 hours cleaning house/shopping and walking)
16. 3 points! (1755 cals, no idea on water but not enough, and 3 hours cleaning/cooking frenzy. One more day of that to go!)
17. 3 points! (1650 net cals, not enough water, 2 solid hours of frantic cleaning)
18. 2 points (1784 cals, not enough water, no exercise)
19. 0 points (2302 cals, ~90oz water, no exercise) Went away for the weekend... couldn't resist father's day brunch temptations. Oh well.
20. 4 points! (1474 cals (was 1764 before my late workout!), 128+oz water, great 45 minute circuit training with hubby)
21. 3 points! (1864 cals, 128+oz water, no exercise) Baby hitting a growth spurt so I'm upping my max cals just a tad this week.
22. 4 points! (1547 net cals, 128oz water, 30min workout!)
23. 4 points! (1726, 128+oz water, walking)
24. 3 points! (1843, 128oz water, no exercise)
25. 2 points (2634 cals, 128oz water, 45 mins walking)
26. 2 points (1933 cals, 70oz water, no exercise... I'm sick. Boo +baby growth spurt = extra cals)
27. 3 points (1848 cals, 128+oz water, no exercise. Still sick )
28. 3 points (1828 cals, 129oz water, no exercise... sick!! GR)
29. 2 points (1750 cals, not enough water, no exercise. I'm sick of being sick!)
30. 2 points (1786 cals, not enough water, no exercise... SICK!)
