Default What do you think of the mom who gave botox shots to her 8 yr old?

I can't imagine a need for an 8 yr old to need botox shots. Then to hear her say that it makes her pretty and beautiful is so sad.

I saw her interview on GMA yesterday and was FLOORED. She is unapologetic and says other moms do it.

It's so sad knowing this little girl is starting to feel THIS insecure this early in life. Botox at 8? What's next?

My first reaction is - *shakes head* only in California

Second - its wrong on so many levels.

Third - mom is an aesthetician not a physician, can they do that???

Fourth - which three areas of the child's face were injected? Is it to keep her looking wide-eyed?

Fifth - Lord, keep that little girl safe.

THAT is child abuse. Social Services needs to step in and take that kid away from her. I don't care what your reason is. That stuff is dangerous and it isn't to be used by growing children. That little girl is going to be psychologically messed up when she gets to be in her teens. ::shakes head:: God, I hate pageant moms.

I think she should lose her license to be a mom.

...there are no words.

Okay. There are plenty of words, but they'd mostly be...

I cannot seem to wrap my brain around this. It is one of those things you hear that are so shockingly disgusting that it is beyond thoughts.

Do parents realize how that not only harms their child physical but also their psyche? REALLY? This is not psychologically healthy AT ALL! This little girl is being brain washed at such a young age. If it keeps up she will most likely turn to eating disorders, bodily image disorders, and NEVER be able to see herself as being beautiful. You know those people that are addicted to plastic surgery, yeah well I bet you this is one in the making.

I don't understand! All children are already beautiful just as they are. I can't believe a mom would put the idea into her daughter's head that you need treatments like botox to correct flaws that don't even exist! I feel sad for the girly!

Not "only in California." I read a story a few months back about a mom doing this in the UK - botox AND ful Brazilian waxes to prevent her from growing pubic hair.

This mom also has her daughter "waxed".

Her daughter should be removed from her custody asap. This woman is just not right. There is absolutely no defense.

OK. So I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. I did watch a few episodes of Toddlers N Tiaras. I cannot believe that 3 yr olds were having their eyebrows waxed. Brazilan waxes? Seriously?

Geez! What did I do when my girls were 3? I cut their bangs. I cut their hair. I trimmed their nails. They needed those things. I even went to an extreme and polished their nails with clear polish sometimes when I was doing mine.

What is this telling these little girls?

Do they have little boy contests?
