Default Unsweetened Almond Breeze

something possessed me and i bought 2 containers on sale (the stuff that can stay in the cupboard til you open it) One in vanilla, and one in chocolate, because it's only 40 calories?? what the what???

Ok, now what do I DO with it???? is it vile without any sugar in it? put it in a smoothie of some kind I assume? maybe mix the chocolate with cold coffee??

Any recipes/ideas appreciated as always!

I'm not a milk drinker, but I really enjoy the vanilla unweetened AB. I use it in oatmeal, or for cereal (which I don't have often). It doesn't ned to be "hidden" in other foods - it's good on its own.

Check out the Hungry Girl site - she loves the vanilla stuff and uses it in lots of recipes. I know a lot of her stuff is processed, but she could give you ideas for how to use it.

I LOVE IT!!!! I am a former lover of cow milk, but the sugar makes me stay away. The almond milk tastes just as good on its own. Good luck!

If you taste it and decide it needs to be a little sweeter, I use agave nectar in it.

I make pancakes with it, use it in my coffee, eat it with cereal. It's not that good as a substitute for milk in macaroni and cheese. I like driniking it straight, but like regular milk, it needs to be cold. I've made smoothies with it too. Very nice blended with ice, banana and berries.

I loooooooooove the vanilla Almond Breeze. I use it in plain cereal(no sugar) and it's so yummy! Gives the cereal a touch of sweetness. I also give my kids the plain kind and they love that. We don't drink cows milk so it's a nice substitute. They call it chocolate milk because it has a slightly sweet taste and I guess that's what they think it is. I am not complaining. lol

I use it on oatmeal, and in any recipes that call for milk.

I love Almond Breeze Unsweetened. I am lactose intolerant and it doesn't bother me one bit. I used to use rice milk or soy, but my preferance is the almond. My favorite drink is 8-12 ozs of almond milk and I add a s/f mocha flavor or french vanilla packet to it for a frappucino (sp). I use a lot of ice and my blender ball. Delicious treat for around 60 cal. The packets I use are called North Star. They are s/f and are 20cal per. Very tasty!!

Ha! I did the same thing yesterday! I had been buying almond milk off and on for a few months, but had not tried the unsweetened until yesterday. I actually think it tastes better than the sweetened version. I drank 2 cups yesterday since it's so low in calories. It has 50% more calcium than cow's milk too!

Yum! How did it turn out? I love unsweetened AB. I am also lactose intolerant, and I find it tastes pretty good plain. I've tried soy mild and rice milk, and I really prefer the AB.

Well, I didn't freeze the banana properly I guess??? I had half a nana and put it in a zip lock and then put it in the freezer, but it was black LOL so i skipped that!!

ummmm and then the wedding fever overcame us and we popped a bottle of champagne instead LOL nice way to start the day!!!

I'll try it tomorrow

Someone at work said sugar free jello chocolate pudding made with the unsweetened chocolate almond breeze is AH-MAY-ZING!

Regarding the banana -- That usually happens if it freezes and then thaws. Did someone maybe leave the freezer open?

I like the unsweetend AB and use it for smoothies.
I also freeze bananas , but you need to use them as soon as you take them out of the freezer. I put them in my smoothies and don't need ice cubes the bananas are cold enough and they are nice and white if you use them right away.
