Default 5 hour energy?

I have recently started using this in the mornings. It seems to give me the boost i need, and I do not get hungry through the day. Has anyone else has success with it, I try to take them during the week and skip them on the weekend.

I tried them when I worked graveyard. I used them near the end of my shift (6am) so I could make it a few hours of morning college classes before I could go to bed around noon. I did get a boost of energy and was able to stay awake to look like I was paying attention in class. I don't remember being jittery like some other energy pills and I thought they worked a bit better then other energy drinks like Red Bull or Monster.

I really like that they don't have as much sugar as the redbull and other energy drinks, and I never get the jitters either with it. I just don't have a lot of energy these days, and 5 hour energy seems to keep me going all day, and I usually can even get some exercise in.

I use the "extra strength" version whenever I need to workout extra early or extra late. Works GREAT with no crash or jitters! I still get really hungry after a workout...sooo...not hunger supression is definitely not a side effect for me.

I had half a bottle a couple years back. I was super jittery and crashed HARD. I haven't touched the stuff since. Usually if I'm exhausted, it's my body's way of telling me to get rest.

I use it occasionally - maybe once every other week. I don't get jittery, but I do get a severe headache or nausea if I drink it before eating breakfast. I think it tastes horrible, but for the most part, the effect is worth it.

Bad stuff. There've been some shady FDA stories about that product. Stick with good ol coffee! (Cheaper, too!)

I stick with coffee, I don't trust any of the energy drinks.

I’m Scott and I am part of the team that engages on behalf of 5-Hour Energy.

5HE has been clinically tested in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled manner which demonstrated it is an effective way to achieve long-lasting energy without a sudden drop in energy later. The fact that millions of people choose it every week shows that it works for them.

Hi Scott!

I just tried it last week before a workout when I was exhausted and I did have a good workout, although I was a bit jittery around 7 hours after. So I have a pretty open mind.

But since you brought it up, who paid for the test? Has it been published? Where? Was it peer-reviewed?

Thanks!

Personally, I've started drinking matcha and noticed an increase in energy. I can definitely tell the difference on the days that I don't drink it. I bought a tin of Do-Matcha brand and the little whisk etc. I might buy a less expensive grade to put in my morning smoothie to see if I get the same results. But I kind of like the peaceful experience of whisking and drinking from a special bowl. Anyway I don't feel it right away, but I do notice an increase in energy and I feel more alert, and it lasts for several hours. I also get the added benefit of a massive dose of antioxidants since I'm consuming the whole leaf. Matcha contains about 130 times the antioxidants of a steeped green tea.

I'd much rather go this route than drinking an energy drink with questionable ingredients and side effects. I'm not referring to any specific product

Science and "case studies" are all hogwash IMHO. Anyone can get a case study to prove what there pushing or their point of view. Just look at us here at 3fc...5 hr energy works great for some and others complain it gives them jitters, etc. Here's your case study right here for ya!

My take on the "jitters" is simply caffeine sensitivity.

That said, the ingredients in 5 hr energy are very simple. Caffeine (no more than 1 cup of coffee), aminos and b vitamins...how can this be not "natural"?

I'd say...try it. I LOVE IT in a pinch...
