Default If you're near a closing Borders bookstore!

It's 40% off right now and I just bought a handful of great work DVDs for around $8 a piece: two BL videos, a Leslie Sansone and a Firm. They also had a bunch of diet books and cookbooks. Happy hunting!

The wall street branch in nyc is having a liquidation sale too! Most things are 30 to 60 percent off!

Alas, when ours closed a year ago, it was there one day, gone the next - I didn't spot any good deals!!!!!
(Sad they've gone too, I liked the shop a lot. )

Thanks for the heads up! The store was pretty picked over, but I was able to find a Leslie Sansone DVD and a Eat Clean book. I had no idea that Borders had filed for bankruptcy. I have to admit I'm not too sad. We have an awesome local bookstore in Santa Cruz, and I was worried when Borders moved in a few years ago, it might have knocked them out. In fact, this was my first time going to the Santa Cruz Borders and guess also my last

Borders closing is bad news for writers.

I don't know ubergirl. I'm a writer and it's a bummer but I wouldn't say it's bad for me. I think the general economy is bad which means that publishers are more nervous about buying books and thus agents are taking on fewer clients. Although trends with ebooks show a segment of the population reading more than they ever had before (although publishers haven't figured out what that means to writers). Yeah, it's sad to see a bookstore close.
