Default SBD chat for Wednesday, March 9

Hi everyone, I'll just get this started this am and then check back in later. I've got to get my son up early today so we can go to church before school. "Enjoyed" Fat Tuesday more than I planned on! Here's to an on plan day...

Good morning from my chilly neck of the woods! It's -4 this morning, but it's not snowing and the sun is out, so I'll take it.

I love how light it is in the morning now. I know that will change this weekend when we turn the clocks but it's a nice sign that spring really is on the way. And I won't mind changing the clocks - I'm looking forward to the extra light in the evening for walking. (I don't walk after dark in winter because there are no sidewalks and snowbanks keep me from getting out of the way of traffic.)

I guess the 3 lbs I lost when I stopped using artificial sweeteners are really gone to stay. ??? I'm not sure what the deal is, but that's the only change I've made. I kept waiting for the scale to go back up but it's been 6 days. I'm thinking maybe there was sodium hidden in some of the things, but I haven't really investigated labels. I'm still trying not to think about the old favorites I'm skipping. LOL

Enjoy your Wednesday friends!

Good morning! I'd like to get to church today too, but I am not feeling my catholic church of late so I'm in search of another! Had a great OP day yesterday. Planned my lunch out before I went so I wasn't left wondering which was best. Ended up at Panera bread and had the chicken cobb salad...no bacon, no tomatoes (don't like them) and greek dressing because it's the one with no sugar. Calories were a bit high for lunch but I fit it in fine. Yay for me. Didn't get my 2nd workout in because I ran out of time but that's just extra if I do it! All in all I'm feeling great! I'm on day8 (one lunch wasn't oP but got right back with it ) Okay...got to get the kids up. More later!

Good morning, and thanks for getting us started again, Matilda. I'm hoping you have a good OP day today.

I'm waiting for the coffee to finish.

Busy in here this morning. I saw that Matilda had started us up and meant to post but got distracted by dogs, coffee and email.

Served at the pancake supper last night and think I absorbed some food from the smell. I will spare you the menu but I was absolutely disgusted by the carbs and fat - even felt a bit nauseated. I guess SBD is working because I used to adore pancakes, syrup and sausages with a side of baked beans! Sorry! That was food porn.

I was supposed to go to Ottawa today for lunch with my sister but she bailed. It's probably just as well as we are supposed to get another dump of snow and I have pretty much had it with struggling to survive winter. Today will be a "me" day with quilting, dog cuddling and some reading time by the woodstove. Now that I've decided to replace it with propane, I'm feeling regret - which quickly disappears when I think of struggling with firewood, kindling and ashes!

It's Hump Day and the time changes this weekend. Can Spring be far behind?

Good morning It's a mostly WFH day with a little running around and a mandatory haircut in there somewhere. My schedule is so crazy I can only manage a walk in hair cut hope that works out, it's a little scary.

Thanks to Karen for getting the Challenge up and running again! I actually managed to stick to my goals yesterday in spite of the crazy day. I'm so excited that I got through a day like that without going wildly off plan.

It was a beautiful day to be on the road yesterday. The mountains and higher areas still had a coating of ice over the trees and bushes and the sun was shining. I tried for pics but it's impossible to really capture that sort of thing. It was just so beautiful it took my breath away. Doesn't make me like ice storms any more but it was amazing.

Happy Hump Day everyone

Now, that's more like it!

Heidi, I'm so glad that those 3 lbs are official! That's terrific! I still haven't cut artificial sweeteners completely out, but I've cut down drastically and am working to the point of totally cutting them out. Thank you for giving me the determination! Enjoy your walk today!

to everyone else! Even with the coffee, my brain just doesn't want to cooperate this morning, so sorry about no personals.

Morning! Quick check-in for me. Things are crazy busy here and I pop in when I can. We watched some friends' kids last night and they're still hanging out. Connor just got home from school so now it's homework time and then a Girl Scout ice cream party and then ballet and then the girls' martial arts class. Luckily, Boy Scouts is cancelled so that makes things a tad easier. OK, off to be homework police.

Good morning. (I actually typoed "food" morning. Freudian slip!)

Heidi - How fast did those pounds come off? I'm very frustrated with my little experiment and overeating to compensate. OP but still. I'd be motivated if I lost some weight doing it

Ruth - I love pancakes. Can't remember the last time I ate them. Not with beans though!

Cyndi - You are welcome. Thanks for joining me; strength in numbers I am meeting my goal but think I need to set another one. Funny how I can do one thing at a time and the other stuff goes by the wayside.

Today is my teen's last day of school before break. (Tomorrow and Friday are staff development and next week is the actual time off for everyone.) I keep thinking it's Friday!

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning ALL!

Why do ugly rainy days make it harder for me to stay motivated? I need to feel the sun! Tomorrow will be sunny and so will I.

Ruth- don't know how you got through the pancakes. It would have been too hard for me at this point! Good for you!

Have a lovely day!

Good morning!

It is supposed to be in the 50's today which sounds lovely. Today at school is busy mainly because I am getting observed twice. The research project I am involved in will be there during 3rd grade reading and then my principal will be there during 2nd grade math. Did I mention then again on Friday the people from Scholastic will be observing?

Someone yesterday had asked about my uncle. There is really no change. He is still "asleep". They stopped the coma meds last Friday morning and most people would wake up in a day or two. He is taking much longer since his liver is not working. Hopefully, by this weekend he will wake up. They still do not know why his liver is this way.

Have a great day!!

Good Morning

I slept 12 hours last night. I know I needed it. Now it's slow getting online. I need to check the roads as we'll try to travel over the divide today.

Have a great day everyone!

I apologize in advance for my mood for the next 45 days or so. I had my last morsel of dark chocolate last night (and it was delicious.) Don't get me wrong, dark chocolate is not a daily treat for me by any means, but it's P-Week. TOM starts tomorrow. PERFECT timing! Sigh.

Meetings and fundraising to do at work today, plus all the regular stuff too. I hope everyone is having a great, OP day!

Morning Matilda, thanks for taking the time to get us started.

Heidi, interesting that you lost the 3 lbs just when you stopped using the artificial sweeteners? Wonder if there is any connection? Anyone else willing to take the plung and give them up to test the theory? As much as you said you used them, I'm amazed that you could quit cold turkey. Good for you .

Kmac, good for you for making such great choices.

Ruth, yea for your "me" day. I hear you about the wood stove. We have both central heat and a wood stove in our family room. Although carrying in the wood and carrying out the ashes can be a drag at times, omg I love the feeling of warmth that the wood stove gives out. Central heat just can't compare. Oh yes, thanks for posting the picture, your little chickens are adorable.

Cyndi, good for you for sticking to your goals yesterday. I agree, I really think the challenge makes us more accountable.

Kara, you go girl! Busy, busy.

Karen, great minds think alike. I'm toying with adding another goal too. Will see.

Jasmine, Getting observed twice.......bet you will do just fine. Will think good thoughts for your uncle that things will soon improve andhe will wake up.

Debbie, have a safe trip over the mountain today.

As for me, I plan on doing a bit of volunteer work today with a local non-profit who assists families escaping domestic violence. I'll be working in the warehouse sorting and organizing donated baby clothes. Not a very exciting job but very necessary and I do so enjoy seeing how cute some of the clothes are.

Other than that, will try today to get all my meals and snacks in today and hope you all do the same.

Oh, one more thing..........I'm so close to meeting my next mini goal, can almost taste it! Soon!!!
