Smile Tips for using 3fatchicks?

Hi All,

I'm new to posting on this site, and I'm super excited about it...

How have you used this website on your weight loss journey? How has it helped you?

Do you have any stories or advice to share with a newbie?

Thanks!!!

Oh gosh, how haven't I used it? This place is amazing!

I use this site to record my weigh ins every single day.

There are challenge threads all over the board. I have joined some of those. It's always fun to look back over a period of three months or so to see how far you've come.

I've learned some fabulous new recipes.

I've learned what it means to eat whole foods.

I've used this place to get a kick in the pants. I've also used it for some atta-girls.

I've used this place for inspiration. I love seeing before/during/after photos. And the thing about this people is everyone here is "real". We all come with baggage. And yet, we are successful.

I've used this place for friendship and for commissary.

I owe my weight loss to this place. My very first day here I read the quote "A year from now you'll be glad you started today" and that quote is the number one reason I have made it when all other attempts have failed.

It's great for people like me (featherweights or maintainers) because I can admit to slipping and hear "GET BACK ON THE WAGON" rather than "Oh you're small, who cares, you deserve a burger!"

Realistic and useful advice rather than sugar coating!

I'm glad! This place really is amazing.

And Sacha's right, though I have to disagree a little bit. A lot of times the useful advice is still sugar coated. We find nice ways around saying, "What were you thinking?"

Post! When I'm involved and posting I think I am more focused on what I'm doing day to day to help my weight loss/health. It's like having a group of people who are vested and know what you're doing... it's an awesome site for accountability and understanding and friendship!!!

This site has helped me so much during my journey! Everyone is so nice and always ready to give their ideas and opinions. It's so nice to talk to people who are on the same route and are here to support you! I've used it for about everything....inspiration, recipes, new ideas...

I ate nearly every meal during my weight loss in front of 3FC. I'd plan my food, log it at mypyramidtracker.gov and then log into 3FC as my mealtime companion. Helped me not go back for seconds when I finished my planned eating.

It's great to browse around and listen to all the questions and advice. You'll learn a lot without even thinking about it. I know I use the site to keep me on plan and focused on my goals. I also use it to track my weight and my progress. The board has taught me that weight loss is a life style. That a plateau is not something to go crazy over and that as long as you stick with it sooner or later you will see results. I hope you like it here!

This all sounds really wonderful. I love your responses... I have been inspired by what I have seen so far reading the posts/responses of others. It seems refreshing to just be able to put it out there, whatever "it" is - good news, bad new, support, questions, requesting a kick in the pants, rants, jokes, celebrations...

I feel pretty alone with my weight concerns most of the time. I have lots of love and support in my life, but I think that I feel weirdly embarrassed by "fat talk". I usually just keep "it" to myself. I have only posted a few times, but even that feels really new and different for me. So, thanks everyone for responding!
