Default What are you going to say when the time comes for you to share your goal story?

I think this is a great motivator. Think about what are you going to say when you are exactly where you want to be with your weight and your are out of this world proud of yourself. You have all the bragging rights. Not just saying your goal story if you choose to share it on this site, but people will definitely ask, "How did you do it?". As silly as it sounds, I had written a letter to my "future" self and that helped when I was feeling like I was going to give up in the beginning. Reading other people's success stories is motivationg and very inspirational, but I can't wait to write mine. I will definitely include how depressed I've became about my weight, all the million times my weight made me feel so insecure, and how I had to completely teach myself a new way to cook and work out contrary to the way I was brought up. Everyone has a story, so share a little of what yours will be.

I think the thing I will tell myself when I reach goal is to not slack off just because I am finally at a healthy BMIl. I'm not done, I will never be done. I will keep the healthy eating habits I've been working on this past year, learn new ones, and never ever ever give up on myself!

I don't think I'm going to write one. I may change my mind, of course, but I hadn't really thought about it! I've just been at this so long that I have a feeling that it'll be sort of anti-climatic when I get there.

I do love reading others' stories, though.

Great idea. I think what I should write to myself now is to remind myself never to give up. Like Vladadog. On a previous thread, I worked out that in my life I've lost around 500lbs. Although it takes work, I'm clearly quite good at losing weight; keeping it off, not so much.

I think I will remind myself that just because I came from a fat family I did not have to be fat. And then I will look to other areas of my life where I have always felt that I was "stuck" and make some more changes.
