Sorry to hear about your injury. Maybe work on some upper body stuff, lift light weights, do some punches with your arms for awhile, focus on moves that don't require you to bear weight on that ankle.

Not to be mean but exercise is hardly necessary for weight loss. Sounds like someone was using their inability to exercise as an excuse to eat more than they should.

An hour of solid exercise only burns 500-800 calories depending on the intensity.

Eat less and you'll lose weight.

eat clean food and try and get in what exercise you can. swimming and walking as much as you can will help your foot heal faster just don't over do it. aside from that you can still lift weights and for cardio you can do punches. being injured sucks but if you getting your eating under control and do what you can you can still lose weight. at 283 you should easily be able to lose weight eating 1600-1800 even without exercise. if you eat healthy you can get pretty stuffed on that many calories. just avoid the junk and you should be fine. try and stay positive. everything will work out.

Just focus on your recovery for now. Eat clean food, stay away from junk food and try to move your foot as much as you can without going overboard with it.

I've lost around 55lbs without exercise and we have similar a similar starting weight. Just focus on your food and you'll still lose.
