Thumbs up First Time I've ever made a mini-goal!

I've tried to lose weight multiple times and can't stay on track for more than a couple of weeks.
But this time I tried what smarter people than I have done, and just tried to focus on 10%, not the 105 I need to lose in total.

AND IT WORKED! I lost 23 pounds as my first mini-goal, and I'm so proud of myself.

Just counting calories and working out every other day. I weigh myself every day, which I know some people disagree with. But if I weigh myself weekly, I give myself too much slack ("oh I can eat a Snickers bar I have plenty of time to lose the weight by next Thursday"). So I weigh myself every day and look back to what it was a week before.

If I can do it anyone can!

Whoo hoo, congrats! 23 pounds is awesome.

I weigh myself daily too. I've found that it not only keeps me more accountable, like you said, but, it also takes the pressure off of a weekly weigh-in. I've found that if I'm disappointed with the number at the end of the week, it's too easy to have that "well, this work isn't paying off anyway, might as well go eat whatever I want" mentality. Plus, it's motivating to see that number go down a little each day!

Congratulations! 23lbs is a major accomplishment. Don't worry about weighing everyday, I'm also a daily weigher, and if it keeps you on track and it works for you then you keep at it.

Thank you all for your kind words. And I'm glad I'm not the only daily weigher. I like all of your mini-goals, too, there are some I wouldn't have thought of. This mini-goal thing could catch on!

I am a daily weigher and I am now learning to see any fluctuations as "natural" as oppossed to set-backs in my plan. My real weight-in is weekly that I record but It still keep me on track to weigh daily. Congrats.
