Our giant baby! It was a very long and harrowing journey at the end. We had hoped that her birth would be just us, our midwife and a bathtub. It couldn't have been more opposite.
Long story short - 32 hours of labour -2 spinals- endless IV's - every intervention I never wanted and an emergency c-section to top it all off.
It turned out that she had a knot in her cord, her cord was wrapped all around her, she was over 10 pounds...AND, she had her arm up over her head! (Called a compound presentation).
We would most certainly both have died had we been alone or not had medical intervention, so I'm incredibly grateful.
It's been hard dealing with the trauma, but we are so incredibly, OVERJOYED!!! She's an amazingly easy baby, so sweet and sleepy.
Anyway, just thought you'd like to know she's here!
OH, and the bonus! I lost 15 pounds during the pregnancy, and today at 12 days after birth, I'm
42 pounds LESS than when I got pregnant!!! It's my biggest loss ever. I've only made it to 40 pounds in the past!
