Default I've come to the conclusion that I'm too hard

on myself. I am mad because I am stuck and have gained 3 pounds back, when in reality, I need to remember that my son is only 4 weeks old today and I have already lost 25 pounds, just 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. It took me over a year to accomplish that after my last child. Anyway, I just needed to write this out to remind myself that I can't expect to continue losing weight that fast and that I've made a great start and need to have more patience.

I'm the same way. I'm so super supportive of other people..but not of myself.

ToriLeigh-
It may be that your body is just adjusting to the weight loss. Or it could be water gain from too much sodium the day before. If your staying on plan it will start back again. If you look at the daily weigh in accountability threads- look at all the daily weigh in's and you will see that many women if not all of them will lose and gain 1-3 Lbs.
But even though you lose 2- gain 1- lose 4- gain 2 and so on...there will be a constant downward spiral of weight loss.
Also be sure to take all your measurements- sometimes when the scale is either not moving or even going up a little- the measurement numbers are coming down.
Don't be hard on yourself hun you have worked very hard on your weight and you have done an amazing job!

And your breast feeding too! Thats a hard job and takes a lot out of you.

My second son just turned 3 months yesterday, and we only managed to b/feed for 2 months. Im lucky to have a very easy baby this time, my first was was poorly with reflux and colic and it was hard on everything.

Even my doctor has said that the first year of having a baby is not a time to think of losing weight. Take it easy on yourself, sometimes you do just need a treat - its hard work!

I had a ton of weight fluctuations in the first six weeks after Seth, when my supply was stabilizing. That is straight up water retention in you milk ducts, after all

I'm breastfeeding (my son is about 3.5 months old now) and still see pretty large swings over the course of the week, larger than before pregnancy. I am almost positive it is all very normal, and indeed my weight is still down about fifteen pounds overall, even with the water weight fluctuations.

Thanks everyone! And that is a great idea about measurements, I can notice difference in the way clothes fit even when the scale doesn't show anything, so I think I will start that.

Just another voice saying you're doing great, just keep going! I didn't even think of weight loss until my daughter was 5 months. Well, I thought of it, but didn't do anything about it.
