Hi,

I had posted that I was upset that my mother hadn't noticed my weight loss. I was talking to her on the phone about us getting together for the family March birthdays (four family members born the last week of March) I told her we were getting a small cake, cause most of wouldn't be eating much. She said "oh, I meant to tell you I thought you looked thinner, but I forgot."

Cracks me up!

then she had to go and ask if my husband and one of my sisters were on diets too...oh, well, can't have it perfect. I told her I didn't know about my sister, that's her business.

Sounds like you're on the right track, Sherry. I would love to feel that my mother was very supportive of me too, but it's not going to happen. I know she is supportive of me in her mind, and in her own way, but it sure doesn't seem like it the way it comes across to me. I guess I have a different idea of what supportive looks like. Sounds like your mom is less supportive than mine, but good for you for losing the weight anyway. If your mom never changes, would you rather be overweight and have to deal with it, or a healthy weight and have to deal with it? I choose healthy weight. Take care! Jeanne

(((((suzie)))))) please try not to let the disappointment you have in your mom keep you from your path. they can't change. we can't do anything about it. so, just keep working on yourself, doing what you feel is right for YOU. and be as happy as you can!!!!
