Question Momentum

Hi Everyone!

I've made the decision to switch back to the Momentum Plan this Wednesday after my morning weigh in. I've gotten some criticism over this but I have to do what's best for me. I lost 80lbs in 10months with Momentum and I truly believe this plan is going to help me reach goal. I honestly don't mind counting my fruit, I did before and made sure I followed the GHG's.

Unfortunately I have forgotten how many weekly points were given on Momentum, I want to say 35 but I can't be sure. Does anyone know?

Yes, it was 35. Good luck! You have come so far and certainly know your body better than anyone!

If you felt like taking the time, for a week or so you could track the points on Momentum and PP and see how they compare. Just for kicks.

Thanks!!

That's a good idea, I may just do that to do a comparison. On Momentum I was losing a little over 2lbs consistently every week then when I switched over I noticed I was up and down every week. It was never just down and I'm a little frustrated so I'm hoping I am making the right decision!

By switching (and double tracking) you'll be able to see if it was too many points, too few, or something else like a plateau that happened to hit when P+ came out.

I'm still using Momentum too - I know it works and I have most of the stuff that I eat memorized as far as point value. One thing the new program did was show me that adding a piece of fruit to my diet every day really didn't "cost" that much whether I counted it or not.

After you do that, would you post again to let us know how it goes - a week or two down the road? Would love to see that and also if you could let us know if you made different choices with your foods. I find it interesting!
GOOD LUCK!

You have to do what works best for you. I like my results better on Points Plus...but I also make better, lower carb choices.

Any time I have a gain...it's usually my own fault.

See how it goes...any minimal damage that is done can always be reversed...so if it is a mistake...you'll catch it early enough to fix it.

Is Momentum comparable to Flex or Turnaround? I have all the paperwork for the Flex and TurnAround points program and hate to invest in something new when that worked for me. I know I should have 22 points per day and I get 35 flex points per week. Is there a group on here doing one of the old plans?

I also went back on momentum. I didn't start points plus until jan 1st after i got my materials, but for some reason my hubby and i just like momentum better, actually-we were just talking about it...couldn't exactly pinpoint the reason, but we both mentioned feeling more control with momentum.
would anyone like to have a momentum thread for us points users?

rocki-i think flex and turnaround are the same...if i am remembering correctly momentum added the healthy guideline; dairy, fruits/veggies/protein/whole grains, but they aren't 'required'. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure any materials with points values are the same as momentums values.

Flex had different point values cause Momentum had the test that was based on your activity level and age. I liked momentum because I could have higher points when I worked and lower points when I didn't based on the test. I don't walk 12k when I don't work. This upcoming week, I'm going to try points plus but I'm not sold on it. I never restricted fruits and don't even like fruits except for like 3 kinds (clementines, green bananas, sometimes apples). But I love veggies. ^_^
