Default 300+ And Getting Fit after 40 #282

This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in!

Well, I slept super late -- and no, I didn't party last night -- not feeling all that great.

I'm trying to work through everything that's happening this year in my life: work, home, etc. There's lots going on and I don't feel like I have a plan. I think that's one of the jobs this weekend. That and reading and more rest (feels like I'm coming down with a cold!)

How's everyone else doing?

Thanks, rainbowsmiles! Good to hear my own words come back to me. I'm NOT discouraged and I'm not giving up (because that means I go back to my starting weight and then some!)

Yesterday I made soup stock, and today chicken soup is on tap. Nice and healthy. I vow to exercise and get those minutes posted on the exercise thread!

Heather_ RAinbow said it perfectly. We all love you and you are so important to us!!Write down a few goals and start working towards just one of them. We can do this together!!

Rainbow - Im so glad your posting with us!

Carol- how are you hun?? I have missed you yesterday.

I cooked a big meal yesterday but did great eating just a bowl full. I was wiped out from chasing the grandkids and took a nice long nap after they left.
Not sure what my plans are for today. I do know it will include church.
Got a lot of salad that needs to be eaten early this week so looks like a healthy start to the week.

Exercise is something I really struggle with...so Im starting the year with a goal of 1000 minutes. I need a good swift kick in the rear if you dont hear me mention exercise often in my post.

Heather - your wisdom has helped me so much - listen to your own words. This thread has got very quiet - it's such a comfort knowing you and Deb are here and I can always find the support and understanding of someone else who knows the struggles I go through. Not to mention the needed kick in seat when needed.

Exercise has to be a part of this for me - we moved the treadmill to the dining room - have used it once - hmmmm.

I was very happy to realize that I only gained .4 lbs over the Christmas break. I was very bad, and glad to see I am not carrying around too much evidence. Today is my first day back to work, cleaned all the candy out of my desk. I am so glad my hubby decided to do this plan with me. It makes it much easier to shop and cook for two. I made a huge pot of tomato - white bean - kale soup yesterday. I will be having it for lunch with a grilled chicken sandwich and fruit. Tonight we are having very lean steak for dinner. I am adjusting slowly, but I know I didn't put these pounds on overnight and they aren't going off overnight.

Lady - great job with the holiday maintenance!

Today was POP with exercise - Wii was a start - funny that after 40 minutes I actually felt like I had used some sleepy muscles. Can't wait to feel fitter (if that's a word).

I was also POP yesterday and did the biggest loser powerwalk dvd. I was amazed at how much harder it was than my walk diet dvd. I know I used some muscles that had been sleeping.LOL Im looking foward to doing it again today.IM also planning on adding in some time on the minitramp.

I have my trainer appt at the gym today, so that is always good! I think I also have "sleepy muscles". Time to wake them up!! Food is planned. Now, I just have to stick to the plan!!

I am on plan - day three! I can't believe it is day three already. From the way increased fiber and vegetable intake, I am feeling some definite changes in my system, if you know what I mean! : o
