Smile SBD Daily Chat Monday Jan. 3

Good Morning Beachers,

Well the day is here. The day we start our new lifestyle. Our new way of eating thinking and feeling.

I am ready. I have weighed and will take my picture when I go over to the house. Will have Lou weigh and take his picture as well.

I do not plan what we will eat because I am a spur of the moment gal.

I have my aresnal of what we can eat list and am excited.

I love to cook so this will be fun for me. New recipes here I come.

With your support and friendship I will be successful.

Today is day one and I am ready for it!

My positive thought for today is: Little steps add up to giant leaps.

BBL

Good morning!

Windsong: My husband and I find that as long as everything in the house is on plan, we're okay with less planning to our day.

We had white chicken chili last night, and it's definitely one of my favorites. It's made of navy beans, chicken, Pace picante sauce, chicken broth, celery and spices.

I've gone ahead and moved my goal weight to something inside the "healthy BMI" for my height (though BMI has issues as a measure, it's easy to use).

I hope everyone has a great day - a fresh start to a new year, with movement and good food and laughter.

Good morning, Lady W and Annie. Thanks for the positive start-up. It sounds like you two have your day well under control.

I'm off to the gym with Donna in two hours and am somewhat relieved that my PT won't be there today. I need to find my workout sheet and re-familiarize myself with my routine. Right now I can't remember the names of the machines - except for the treadmill, of course!

Christmas is still hanging on in our house but I am planning to wind it all up after Wednesday night. I've invited my friends Claire and Doug, their DD Heather and her two boys for family dinner that night to wind up the season - and get rid of some of the leftover wine! I'm doing a ham and some food porn scalloped potatoes which I'll have to skip. Ham's a bad choice because of the salt but I do want the bone for real pea soup. I'm way too much of a foodie!

Time to plan today's food and the task list. Hope your Monday is great.

Well Beach Chicks, I am back and starting Phase I today. I have gained about 10 pounds back since I fell off the wagon several months ago....thankfully I did not gain all I had lost back. I have started a new ticker because that will help me keep perspective and accountability! I really want to focus on exercise more this time. My mini goal is to move at least 15 mins. each day. I know that sounds pitiful but with my schedule I want it to be attainable and I am hoping to increase as I go....Happy New Year and Monday!

Good morning on the first Monday of 2011!

Welcome back litar, it's great to see you again!

Windsong, good luck on your first official day on plan. Sounds like you're ready.

Annie, that soup looks good. I love chicken or turkey chili. Now I'm thinking I should change my supper menu tonight....

Good morning Ruth, I hope all goes well at the gym this morning.

It's back to school for me today. I wonder how my kiddos will be. Some groups come back from vacation well rested and raring to go, others come back tired and cranky. I'm hoping for the happy, well rested scenario, but I planned for the other, just in case. Either way I'm heading back well rested and raring to go and with my on plan lunch and snacks.

Enjoy your Monday friends!

Good morning Well I'm plopping back into work with a full day meeting up north, so probably a 12 hour day. Luckily the weather is fine and the roads are clear.

Lady Windsong - Sounds like you are ready to go. Have a great first day.

annie - I love pretty much anything spicy. I wonder if can make something like that with veggie chicken strips (I'm sure the answer is yes )

Ruth - good luck at the gym. I hope the machines recognize you. A last holiday dinner sounds lovely. We always celebrated the 6th when I was young (Little Christmas) and in my mind that's still when the season winds down.

Lisa - Welcome back! When I started I moved 10 minutes a day some days. Establishing the habit is the hardest part.

Heidi - I hope your group is excited to be back and ready to go.

Time to get my bits and pieces together for the day. We are meeting at a coffee shop so I will have to order lunch from the menu. Luckily it's online and pretty healthy (must resist the tempeh reuben though!). A good supply of snacks should get me back home for dinner instead of ordering from the Co-op.

Hope your Monday is a breeze.

Good morning, and Welcome Back to both the old faces and the new! It's great to hear such positives outlooks and motivation! Let's hope this wave of enthusiasm carries us through the entire year!

All the holiday festivities are finally over here at my house and all the decorations and outside lights are put away, although the tree is still up, and that will come down on Saturday. I love Christmas, but the house has been decorated and we've been celebrating since Thanksgiving, so I'm more than ready to get back to normal.

My meals are all planned out for the day, and it feels so good to get back to completely clean and healthy eating again.

Good morning all

I'm baaaaccckkk LOL

cottage, good for you for taking Christmas down! I did it right after the day. I usually wait until New Years day.

Cyndi, The tempeh reuben sounds yummy! I hope you can resist!

Heidi, I hope the kids are good and ready to be back today, my son was up all night with a toothache and is not going to school. I am upset My daughter is not ready to go back. I suspect once she gets there, she will be happy.

litar, welcome back!

annie, that looks yummo!

Ruth, I am a foodie too! The scalloped potatoes sound good, but you can avoid them. Think of how good you will feel if you resist!

Lady Windsong, welcome back, it's a good time for a fresh start. Thanks for getting the thread started

I am back also! I am doing a combination of SBD and WW, WW has an entire new system, I think it will work well with SBD. I joined the WW online.

I worked out this morning, and also walked (like I used to do)

I am exhausted though, I hope I get more energy. I have to go to my grandfather's viewing today, and the funeral/memorial service is tomorrow

Good morning!

Windsong - Love your excitement and optimism.

Annie - Looks yummy. Life would be so much easier for me if I could get my husband on the plan and the crap out of the house. Darn lack of willpower. Darn husband.

Ruth - I SHOULD be going to the gym. Haven't in ages and dread starting back now since it will be very crowded. I did the salty ham thing too - just Christmas to me.

Lisa - I fell off and gained back too. Story of my life, unfortunately. Let's get it off and keep it off this time!

Heidi - I wondered if you were headed back today. It is staff development or something at ours so my son gets another day to sleep. Happy first day of the countdown to summer break!

Cyndi - Have a great day. Happy snacking.

Linda - Woo hoo for that last part!

Beloved - I must have missed something about your grandfather. So sorry

Last day of winter break here for the teen. He will be tired tomorrow! I've been pretty much eating well this past week except that I got a bit addicted to sugar free hard candies. They are not agreeing with my tummy and I should probably just give them up.

Have a great day everyone.

Woo, good gracious, you chicks are chatting early!! Bring on the new year!

Like us all, I need to cut back. Interesting enough, the recipe of the day is baked kale chips at allrecipes.com : http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Baked-K...ps/Detail.aspx. Sounds interesting, has anyone done this before? Make sure to read the contributors comments below the recipe!

I've already cleaned the bathroom and mopped the floor, just had my cinnamon omelette. Packed up my veggies, cheese stick and moroccan tagine for lunch. Hoping to go on a run outside after work, the pup would love it!

Don't have time for personals, the darned paycheck is calling. Have a great day on the beach!

Good Morning

for such an energetic SBD crew!

I'm running behind after sleeping in, however to my credit, I stayed up pretty late last night working on my animal rescue paperwork. End of the year is a big deal as I'll have lots of reports coming up soon. Pups have been out, fed and are quietly enjoying their morning. I'll scan photos later, walk and eat OP I can honestly say I am thrilled to have all the sugar/fat laden functions behind me for a year.

LadyWindsong, thanks for getting us started! I'm not much of a planner, either, but one thing I have found that really helps is to have one or two freezer meals stashed for just that moment when I get home late and am really hungry. It helps.

Ruth, glad you can work out without the PT today!

Annie, I must try that recipe! Thx for the picture!

BelovedK, glad you are getting back into a groove. Your accountability combo sounds great! as you move through your Grandfather's passing.

Linda(cottagebythesea), yay for routines, planned meals and "normal days!

Heidi, it sounds like you have all your bases covered as you head back to school.

Lisa(litar), welcome back! Half your gain will probably come off as water weight. I think the idea of 15 minutes of exercise a day is a great idea. It adds up...I figured it out last month.

Cyndi, take care during your long work day. Drive safe and enjoy your "reuben free" lunch.

Karen, great job sticking to plan last week! Let's go for another!

to everyone else!
The question was raised about the later posts being read. I want you all to know that I DO read every post every day. It is important to me to know what you all are up to...Lots of times, though, it's on a flyby when I don't have the time to sit down and get to personals. Then when I sit down later, often my internet is too undependable for responses. Keep posting! It matters!

Good morning,

I am ready to go as well. Your enthusiasm is contagious! Thank you!!!

I have today off still, but I have a ton of homework. Also, I am going to my Grandma's to visit/lunch. That was one of my resolutions - to spend more time w/ my friends and family. I do not want to take anything for granted.

Have a great day!
