Hi Marcie!
to the beach!
My DH doesn't need to lose weight, but he has sure had some food issues which could use improvement.
Because he hasn't needed to lose weight it has always seemed OK to put whatever he wanted into his mouth. When I started SBD I didn't make any modifications for meals we shared. If I needed to eat X for dinner, that is what he had. After finishing Phase 1, I quickly looked at the things we had enjoyed eating together and found new ways to prepare them which were SBD compliant.
I guess my point would be that if he knows he needs to lose weight and could learn enough about the concept of low glycemic eating(which is what I consider SBD to be)
and have the SBD friendly meal support system at home that he might really enjoy the idea of getting healthier
while losing weight. My DH has not lost or gained a single pound since I started SBD, but he is much healthier. His cholesterol and tryglicerides have dropped as much as mine, even though he continues to eat some junk.
Let us know how we can help. It might take learning to help plan his lunches if he is accustomed to meals which are off plan or actually poor health choices. My guy is a snacker and I find he's not too picky about that, either. For my DH, once he saw his health benefits in process he became more positive about the process.
Best wishes to you, too!
