Default Can you lose 20lbs in 2 months?

What do you guys think? I'm feeling the wrath of the holidays and now that they are over I found out in about 2 1/2 months I will most likely see this guy that I was head over heels with 2 years ago. It's been over a year since he's seen me and I want him to see me and think I look awesome. I tend to hover around 150-158lbs. I started Insanity today because the gym isn't cutting it. Any advice, tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm excited to start this challenge...it's even better that I have motivation!

I'm no weight loss expert... but almost 20 lbs. in two months should be acceptable considering that losing 2lbs. per week is "safe" weight loss. Now keeping in mind that you don't weight that much to begin with, you're really going to have to dedicate yourself, it's definitely going to be a challenge.

Now just dropping in my two cents in if you don't mind You may want to rethink the reason why you want to lose weight. I fully understand wanting to look good for someone... but to ensure that you are successful in your weight loss endeavor you should do it for you, no one else. If he likes you, he'll think you're beautiful even if you do have a little extraness

Yes...it's possible. How tall r u? You are my goal weight...but I'm 5'9! Depends on how close to goal you are. That said 2-3 lbs/week with proper diet and lots of exercise, its totally possible. I've lost 33 lbs in 3 1/2 months.

Thanks for your replies! I'm only 5'5 and so my goal weight is 130 so I'm not quite there. I used to weigh 235 so it's been a long road. I've noticed it's been difficult to get off the last 20/30 lbs but I'm definitely going to bust my butt for this challenge to myself. I'm not fully doing this for a guy but I'm trying to use this partly as my motivation to keep me going. I will keep you guys posted on my progress

I followed the American Dietetic Association's 1200 calorie diet for 2 months and did light exercise 6 evenings a week for 30 minutes. That allowed me to lose 30 pounds in 2 months. I think you can find the menus online. Good luck!

It is possible. With that said it took me 5.5 months to loose 20 lbs and I started at 160. I think when you weigh more you can loose more quickly. But I was really counting calories, eating healthy, working out 6 days a week, I was running 3 miles and doing weights the first 3 months and then did the P90X the last 3 months (on my last week). So yea, it is possible, but it depends on how your body works because I busted my butt, I just loose slow. Lol

The first month that I was on Richard Simmon's Deal A Meal diet (back in 1997), I lost 27 pounds so losing 20 pounds in 2 months can be done.

Good luck.

Well i've lost 7 lbs so far! I bought the Turbo Fire DVDS because running on the treadmill at the gym wasn't cutting it and I didn't care for Insanity. These DVDs are amazing and just what I needed!
