ROLL CALL!: Was anyone able to maintain or lose over xmas week?
Hey I was just wondering how you guys did....if you lost, gained, maintained, if you minded whatever happened or didn't mind?
Did you do as well as hoped? Better? Worse? How will you handle things next year after learning from this one?
I lost In the last week I have lost 3 lbs. Which is great cuz I was starting to only lose 1 lb a week which was okay, but could've been better. Ha.
I didn't go home for xmas. I had my sister and her bf up here (drama with fam, so avoiding) and I cooked us really yummy healthy stuff. I did not go off Plan at all, and I was really proud. Also, they loved my food.
I'm proud. Going home is so detrimental to my diet anyhow that I'm glad I didn't go, for more reasons than one. ha. That and being gluten free vegan there wouldn't have been much to eat down there!!!! If anything. Maybe corn? ha.

I'm down for the week but I'm going out for dim sum on New Year's Day so I'm not counting my holiday successes quite yet. My pre-holiday goal was to get under and stay under 200 for a January 3 weigh-in. So far so good and i'm feeling cautiously optimistic....

I was down a pound on 12/26, then up four pounds from that figure on 12/27. If I ever needed any proof that the body has some lag time and some water-weight weirdness sometimes, those numbers are it.
It's a good lesson in not getting overly excited over a precipitous but temporary drop and in not getting depressed over fluctuations that I know for a fact are not fat gain. (I ate a grand total of six ounces of stuffing, there's no way it could turn into four pounds even if it did have gobs of butter in it.)
Congratulations on your three-pound loss, and even bigger congratulations for adhering to your plan and serving up delicious noms for your guests!

My Christmas week only began on 12/25, so I can't say yet. Not expecting to lose but intending to get to 01/01 at the weight I left it on 12/25.

Down 0.2 since 22.12.10 - consider this a success as I was staying with family and away from my usual foods and routine ! Yay!

I've continued to lose over the holiday. I'll know for sure next week, I guess.
We didn't have company, got snowed in, and didn't go anywhere for Christmas... so that may have made it easier on us.

Still down for the month. I am happy with that as it is better than I have EVER done in the past. I have been consciously aware that I have been eating off plan and that I am over my points. I think my body agrees with this 're-feed'.
Funny story - I made a big dish of baklava for Christmas Eve but didn't have any that night (listening to my satiation signals???). It was supposed to be brought over to my house for Christmas but got left behind. The next day they did bring it for leftovers dinner but the dish fell to the floor and shattered. Can you say Divine Intervention??!!

I kind of consider Christmas week Christmas Eve to New Years Eve. I weighed 140.2 Christmas Eve morning, and I weigh 145.0 this morning...but, that's down from yesterday, and I don't see any obstacles in my way from getting back to 140 by New Years Day. Pretty confident it'll happen if Tom, (who is 10 days late) would ever show up!
Oh, and the most exciting thing in all of this is...I was looking at my last years weight/calorie journal and guess what I weighed last year, (2009) Christmas Eve morning...140.6. Never in my whole life Have I weighed the same for 2 years in a row. It's a miracle.!

Christmas day I had dim sum and then more Chinese food that evening. I think I'm still retaining some water from all of the sodium. I think my calories have been pretty good and yesterday I ran 5 miles (and burned off about 700 calories if I can believe the treadmill).
My weight this morning was 181.6. I'm up over 2 pounds from my lowest weight (which was about 1 week ago). As long as I'm under my "redline" weight of 185 I'll be pretty happy, but I would like to get solidly in the 170s. I think this will occur.
New Years day I run a 4 mile race in the cold...BRRRRR.

Maintained. I had a cup of stuffing and a piece of cherry pie with a little ice cream, but overall that was ok I think. No candy, no cookies, no potatoes. Kept up with the exercising.

It looks like I've stayed in the same two pound range of 206-208 all of December, with a few bounces upward that quickly came back down (water retention) so I'll call it a 'maintained or one pound gain from all time low' week.
It's not bad, either way.

On Christmas Day I met my first mini-goal of losing 53 pounds before birthday in January 2011. I was thrilled. I lost 1.5 pounds during the week of Christmas and I did eat a lot of goodies, but I boosted up my work outs and drank a ton of water.

I'm baffled, because even though I was good all week, including Christmas Eve at my mother's, I ate more on Christmas day then I intended to and even ate 2 cookies (bad me). On the Sunday before Christmas I weighed 265 and this morning I weighed 262. So that's 3 pounds in 9 days. Not sure why I went down, but I'll take it!
