Default Frosty Friday

The weather outside is delightful, in that it's not snowing but it is Frosty, hence the title of this Blog! I'm also feeling frosty towards a certain Bank employee. When I called Educational Federal Systems Credit Union yesterday, I was treated like a little child. I wanted information faxed over to the Credit Union but they gave me an unsatisfactory answer as to why they couldn't fax the information! All I know is I better get my business settled today, or it's gonna go down!

I'm gonna exercise for ten minutes as usual today. I will be eating meats and oranges for my meals today, as Mom as yet to really get cooking. I can't wait till tomorrow! I am so excited! I am also excited about attending Church for the first time in at least a month! I've been taking better care of myself spiritually despite this though. I've been enjoying the Bible as of late. I will rest tomorrow as I have nothing pertinent to do but handle the issue with the Bank. God bless you all!

Good early morning, Chickies. By now I hope Okie is fast asleep, resting up to tackle the bank today.

This morning had a bad start which I shall rise above: I discovered my coffee is de-caf! The store doesn't open for another four hours so I guess I'll have to suffer.

Lots to do today starting with a grocery run asap. I meant to go to town but will make do with local shopping this morning. I need a few party things like pate and non-alcoholic drinks. Claire's son Matthew is coming over this afternoon to do some party prep jobs like lugging in cases of wine and selecting CDs to load. Matt is a musician so I let him choose, rather than wonder what he's thinking of my selection.

Right now, I'm going to clear the wrapping stuff off the diningroom table and crank up for company although I really feel like heading back to bed. Sometimes it sucks to be a grown up!

I hope your day is smooth and seamless. See y'all later.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!

Okie, I hope you got some sleep so you're alert when you deal with the bank situation.

Ruth, my coffee is full-strength and delicious. Want a cup?

I have to run to the store one last time, for parsley of all things. It was on my list yesterday, but I somehow forgot it. Other than that, I have a cake to bake and want to get the laundry done before the family gathers at my parents' later this afternoon. My mother is making our traditional Italian Christmas Eve 7 Fishes dinner, with the addition of gnocchi and tons of other food porn. We start early in the evening and wrap up the festivities by going to Midnight Mass. I am so excited! It's the best and most special time of the year.

Parsley! Thanks, Cottage - I'm just about to leave to help them open the store and appreciate the reminder. You can't have Christmas without parsley!

Good morning chicks!!

Okie - Ummm...I think the banks are closed today? I ran to the bank on my lunch yesterday to get my paycheck in...since my credit card bill is due Christmas day! How rude! Good luck with your situation!!

Ruth - DECAF?!?! You have my sympathies!!

Cottage - I've got to disagree with Ruth on this one...Christmas would be just fine without parsley!! Now butter....can't have Christmas without butter...

I went grocery shopping last night too, wasn't bad. But, I'm just not figuring out the rest of the menu, since I didn't have much time yesterday. I might have to send the DH to get a few things. Boy, will I owe him big time!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas eve!!

Good morning We made it to my folks in spite of the snow (every single year!) and had a lovely evening there. Now we're sipping coffee in our hotel room and thinking about going out for breakfast before heading over again. It should be a fun and relaxing day. Mom is making a vegetable lasagna with whole wheat noodles on the top and bottom to hold it together better. I'm making a big pan of roasted veggies to go with it. Julie created a slide show of our NM trip to share this afternoon. When my Dad retired they planned to visit all the national parks. Then he got cancer and they haven't traveled at all so we want to share our adventures with them. After that there will be some gifts including a beautiful framed print of a night photograph of a NM church. Somewhere in there we will brave the cold and take the dog for a walk (must get exercise!). It should be a nice, relaxing day.

Okie - good luck with the bank today

Ruth - Delta Christmas always sounds wonderful and special

Cottage - Enjoy all the family time.

Twynn - I both miss and don't miss those days when DD was at that crazy age around the holidays. So much fun and so stressful sometimes. Hope your days are special and memorable for all the good reasons.

Sending thoughts of joy, warmth and love to you all and to all my 3FC buds yet to awaken.

Good morning lovely ladies. And any lurking laddies.

So... today here will unfortunately be another stressful day with my teen and his darn college application essays. I sent three different ones to my friend who is a college counselor and former college rep and she, not surprisingly, doesn't like any either. Now I need to figure out how to tactfully relay her feedback to my son. The deadline is almost here so at least the end to this particular stress is in sight. Poor guy.

Exercise, trimming older son's hair, waiting for tomorrow... that's about it for the rest of my day.

Good Morning

My brothers got in last evening and we had some time to visit over a healthy dinner which I prepared. It was exciting to see that my bro, who is 15 yrs older, had lost even more weight than when I saw him briefly last summer. A total of 75 in all. I believe he's following SBD principles...it will be nice to visit with him more. We have some chores this morning before we head over to socialize as they make mince pies. My brothers DH is from Great Britian and they always incorporate some of his traditons with ours. At Christmas dinner I believe we'll wear party hats and have "crackers". I need to find some....

Have a great day everyone. I'm running behind this AM...but got some much needed rest. Food goes well, I'm just not going crazy over anything.

Just back from the final. final shop and I forgot my comprehensive grocery list here at home! That's what happens when I drink decaf! I'm afraid to look at the list in case I've forgotten some major essential! I guess I'll find out as I cook.

I am on dipsoluscious vacation!!!!

Merry Christmas Eve, everybody! Anna opened her presents last night and it was quite a success! She's playing her new games in the front room as we speak.

Okie - Here's the link to my wedding dress: http://www.inweddingdress.com/style-bc012.html Still working on the "plan" for what we're doing. If we do a small ceremony here, then I need to figure out bridesmaid dresses too. Oy. So much WORK!

Better get up and moving today. It's snowing. Yuck. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hi,
I'm back. Can't believe that a repairman has come and gone and didn't mortgage the house to fix the furnace. We had an old furnace for almost 30 years and it would rattle and shake and always reminded me of the Christmas Story (by the way my favourite Christmas movie)and now with the new one, High Efficiency one, we have had three service calls in five years. The furnace was a retirement present for my DH from his company and I guess one shouldn't look a gifted horse in the mouth. It has so many switches on it that one seems to be going every year.
Anyways, I made a list of things to take out of the freezer today and its homemade pizza tonight. Tomorrow prime rib.
Again, wishing all a Merry Christmas, you are such a great support to me.
I too have no parsley but will sprinkle some dried on my soup.
take care
Sophie
see you all in a few days.
