Default Gift Ideas for Boss's

What did you get your boss this year? Did you get anything? How much did you spend? I"m looking for ideas, and would like to get done Christmas shopping this weekend.

Everybody in my office just puts in $10 and we buy her a gift card to different places...one time it was Olive Garden, another time a spa, this year was to the local mall.

ETA - But you are probably looking for individual ideas...well she always gets us a gift. One time it was big coffe mugs full of chocolates, fancy nuts, and last year we all got keychain pepperspray (we're all girls, lol).

I've given home baked cookies. This year I'm putting together a goodie box (nuts, dried fruit, salami, cheese, crackers) and will include cookies (my boss likes to cook and eat). I think I probably spend about $30 - $40 doing that.

If you know an interest that he/she has, or a like: coffee, tea, chocolate, cookies.

I make both my bosses jewelry every year. This year it was crystal earrings and pendants. One of my bosses shares my birthday in January so I will make her a matching bracelet.

We decided to not give gifts this year in our department and give towards a family that has a daughter with luekemia. I am the supervisor and we have a director in the are. The staff still gave to the two of us, wrapped the boxes in Christmas material and filled with various baked goods and some tangerines...it was beautiful even if my family helped to finish things off so didn't

Our office did a collection for the owner of the company; I made him and his wife a quilt for their sofa.

I'm in the odd position of being a boss this year as well; I'm giving my assistant a gift card and cookies.

We are a small office, and I know that some of the other workers in the office, aren't giving gifts. I have given gifts in the past, and just feel weird not giving one. What I think I am gonna do is make a plate of Christmas cookies and wrap them up and put a bow on em.

Does that sound like it would be an ok idea?
