Default Whoa, wait a minute.

Am I going about this wrong? I keep track of my weight and calories on livestrong.com

Today I weighed in at 167.8 (that's exactly how my scale reads it)

I went back later to check my calories and see if my weight had changed (I forget that it automatically updates), and noticed it said 167.80.

That didn't look right to me.

So I changed it to 167.08

And the number of calories I could eat today dropped, and so did my little dot on my weight chart.

Do I need to start writing numbers .0x or .x0? Does it make a difference? Was I doing it wrong all along? I feel like such a dummy.

You did it right the first time. 167.8 is the same as 167.80. Adding a zero to the end doesn't change the value.

.08 and .80 aren't the same. .80 is like 80%, so your current weight is 167 pounds plus 80% of a pound, i.e. just over 167 and 3/4 pounds.

.08 is 8%, so you've said you're 167 pounds and 8% of a pound, i.e. 167 pounds and 1 and a quarter ounces.
So there's just about 12 ounces difference.

Of course, I've stared at the numbers so long my brain has now fried!!!!!
