Beth There are a couple of places to look: the recipes threads and a few ideas in "fun with packets" thread.

I really liked the taste of the soups so didn't do much to them. Some people use the soups as a sauce (gravy?) over vegetables. You could add hot sauce and cilantro to have a Mexican flavour; basil, garlic and a bit of tomato paste to get a more Italian flavour. Think about flavour combinations you like and you can probably find ways to recreate that using the herbs, spices and flavourings.

Interesting accidents occur, so be open to a little adventure:
Someone posted about using Walden Farms chocolate syrup by accident on a chicken breast -- she meant to get the barbecue sauce out of the fridge. Two of us thought -- add some chili sauce and you've got a Mexican mole sauce.

I made an omelet one morning; I usually added one whole egg to the mix for the extra sustenance (5-6 hours from breakfast to lunch). I thought it looked different -- no fine herbs but didn't check the packet until after I had poured it in the omelet pan. Packet was chicken soup! It took a little longer to cook. However, I actually really liked it and did it intentionally a couple of times.

I use my chicken soup as a dip. I cut up all my favourite vegetables and just dip away! Seems almost more like I'm being bad when I'm actually being good!

Happy Monday everyone!

So down a whopping .5 from last week! HA! Better than going up I suppose. This is the first time I had a small loss during TOM, so I'm not sure I can blame it on that... But I'm going to anyways!

PS. My Christmas Challenge Tracker didn't even budge... Not sure why... Does it only track full lbs lost?

Default The start of another beautiful week.

Good morning!!! Thanks to I'm Svelting on telling us how to get the photo link on the signature. I have been wondering that, but never have enough time to check it out. When I get home tonight I might just put some photos up. I would love to see more photos of people I have been sharing my inner most secrets.

Default Thank you

Thank you all for the words of support and comfort. I realize that my dad is better off now, but I still feel lost and it hurts so much. I know that God has a plan and it is His will. I just need His comforting love right now. I know that by brother, sister and I will need to be there for my mom now. Even with the loss of my dad's memory, one of the last things he asked from me is that we take care of Mom.

Happy Monday, everyone!
I am climbing back on the wagon after a couple slip ups this weekend. We had to travel to attend my father in law's funeral, and I ended up caving in Saturday and having pizza for dinner Saturday and a small slice of coconut creme pie Sunday. These are my first real "cheats" on this plan ... hopefully getting back in the groove won't take long. I carried that piece of pie around for three days before I finally caved in (yeah, I know I should of let it be in the first place) and only ate the pizza because the choice was more cold ham ... or hot pizza.
Hope everyone has a good week!

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend and made it through without too many temptations!

I finally broke down to a new low weight, 29 pounds gone. I can feel hipbones. My arms don't fill out my sleeves like stuffed sausages either!
Thin is going to taste sooo much better than any food indulgence.

On the more challenging side, I am thinking ahead to (American) Thanksgiving, and trying to decide what low carb dishes to prepare so I have a variety of choices. I am thinking of making mashed turnips in a way that tastes similar to mashed potatoes.

Any other suggestions?

Happy Monday morning fellow IPers!
It's going to be clear and cool here on Vancouver Island today. Finally took down my ivy geranium hanging baskets yesterday. They still had some flowers but were looking pretty tired.
Short work week for me as we have Remembrance Day on Thursday and then I'm off to conference on Friday. It'll be fun, but a bit of a challenge.
tie1103 - I'd just like to add my condolences. I lost my dad many years ago to cancer - the feeling of loss does eventually fade. Now my mom is 90 and still doing pretty well, but we worry about her all the time. I guess that's just the way it is. My thoughts are with you.

Today is my wedding anniversary! Married 8 years to the most wonderful supportive man in the world. We're going out to a french restaurant tonight. I'm going to look up the online menu now and plan what I should have to stay on track. I might have to have 1 glass of wine to celebrate though.
