Default First Week On WW Done And No Weight Loss!

**** everyone.

I have officially finished my 1st week on weight watchers. I weighed myself and I lost absolutely nothing! But I guess on the bright side I didn't gain either. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them the first week. I totally changed my eating habits and thought I did so good compared to how I used to eat. Now I did use about 10 of my extra 35 pts for the week so I knew I wouldn't lose a huge amount of weight but I was hoping for at least some kind of weight loss. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I'm not going to get depressed I'm gonna keep on trying. Thanks in advance for any insight into this.

I believe when I did WW years ago in High School I lost my first week...it's a decent program, but you still have to be careful of WHAT you eat...along with the point value

Are you getting in the 5 fruits and vegetables a day? Those are really important as they give your body all the nutrients that you need. I'm a current weight watcher and in my first month I lost 8 pounds by really just drinking water. Water will flush out your system and your body will begin to lose weight. Don't give up!

Well I have been eating plenty of veggies but not alot of fruit. This next week I'm going to try to incorporate more fruit and water. I'm having a tough time getting used to eating smaller meals and also finding foods that fill me up. I guess it's my learning curve.

I also just noticed that my ankles are swollen more than usual. I bet that's where my weight loss is in my ankles! LOL Now if I could just drain them then I could say I lost weight. LOL But I'm gonna hang in there and try to do better this 2nd week. Thank you so much for the support. Gotta go make that new better for me grocery list!

Don't give up! It sounds like you are retaining water. Try drinking more water (sounds counterintuitive!) as it will flush you out. You might have eaten something particularly salty?

WW works-- you may not see losses every week but you will lose. Make sure you are following ALL of the Good Health Guidelines too. Good luck! I lost my weight on WW and I'm still below goal over 2 years later.

Sometimes WW (which I love, by the way) can lead to people eating way too much processed and pre-packaged foods. This can lead to horrible amount of sodium, and sodium causes us to retain water (and therefore weight).

Try eating more fruits and more natural foods. You can fill yourself up so easily with lean protien (a decent amount of shrimp is only one point and SO satisfying!).

Good luck! Don't give up!

Also, make sure you're weighing yourself at the same time of day. When you first wake up, after going to the bathroom but before consuming anything, is usually the best time!

Hey everyone!

Just a quick update. I have now lost 14 pounds! I am now beginning week 4 and I am so excited! I can actually fit back into 2 pairs of jean shorts that I haven't been able to wear in almost 10 years. 14 down and a lot to go. I'm pumped and ready to lose some more.

So glad you updated us - very exciting!

I just re-discovered 3 Fat Chicks and started practicing WW 1 week ago. I was all set to tell you how I never lose weight the first week after starting any weight-loss plan. Then, i scroll on down and see your update. That encourages me a LOT.

Thanks and carry on!
