Default Sauces - like for veggies

I sometimes eat Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers and I add a boat load of extra veggies. I like the sauces in a lot of them... but I am trying to do away with processed food as much as possible.

Does anyone have any good sauce recipes that would be good on veggies and chicken? But also not fattening! Like a garlic sauce? A sweet and sour sauce?

I've had a hard time finding much online. Sure, it is easy to find BUTTER garlic sauces, but that defeats the purpose. Not sure, though, what else could be used.

I sometimes make a sauce with a little milk, parm cheese and whatever spices I have on hand, usually garlic powder (or minced), onion powder, oregano and basil. If you're looking for more a gravy, a little corn starch (other starch will work), some steak spice and some chicken or beef broth (canned, powder, cube or homemade). I've also used a serving of laughing cow cheese wedges melted with some added spices to compliment. Homemade honey mustard is great too. mix a tablespoon of honey with 3 tablespoons of dijon mustard, add some pepper, use as a glaze for chicken or as a sauce for a stirfry. Yum.

Here's a link to the sauces category on the fat free vegan website...several sauces there look pretty interesting.

Hmmm, I'm always on the lookout for a good sweet and sour sauce as well, if I could find a good one to put on veggies that would definitely help.

Have you tried them without sauce, prepared in different styles (i.e. steamed, roasted, raw, grilled, etc)?
I prefer them plain, or with a dash of spices. To me, sauce masks the flavor of the fuel. I personally feel more energy and happiness the less additives I use.
