Question Low Carbs???!!!

Hi everyone!! Just wondering... I am out of surgery 7 months now. When I had surgery, my surgeon told me to keep my protein at 80 grams or more and my carbs under 100 grams. After loosing a whole whopping 7 pounds in two full months, my mother told me that HER surgeon only allows 50 grams or less until you are at goal weight. So for one week I decided to keep my carbs at 50 grams or less (NOT easy) and I lost SEVEN pounds in ONE week!! I haven't done that since the beginning! LOL So what I am wondering is, what does everyone else eat? Anyone else have this problem too? I know a few people who just eat whatever and keep NO track of carbs whatsoever and they just keep loosing. Apparantly, I am an unlucky one.. LOL Anyone else doing LowCarb???

oh amy lyn. you've hit a real nerve with me!!!! think ATKINS. less than 20 grams of carbs, no rice, potatoes, bread, crackers, pasta. whatever carbs you DO eat should be in vegetable form.

and EAT YOUR PROTEIN. DRINK YOUR WATER. EXERCISE. i hate to sound like a broken record, but these are the rules.

however, you've also lost 101 pounds in 7 months, an excellent weight loss. sometimes our bodies just take a break. not what we want, but it happens.

so, stick with the low carb. really.

I guess I have managed to loose the weight I have because every other rule I follow religously. I drink up to 80 oz. of water per day, I always eat around 80-100 grams of protein per day, I go to the gym three days per week and do Pilates and an aerobic video at home 3 days per week. The only thing I was doing was eating to many carbs. And really and truly, my surgeon told me as long as it was under 100 per day I was fine. But I guess because I used to have VERY high insulin levels, (went from 40 to 11!!!) I have a nontolerance for so many. Eating 50 or less per day, at least half of which come from fruits and veggies, has had me lose constantly for past 2 weeks. So I will be sticking with this .. If I stop loosing again, I will lower them again as neccessary.. (gosh I hope I dont.. LOL) Thanks for replying though, good to know I am not the only one.. LOL
