Default one small step?

So I am a newbie...I've had enough of being fat. I'm tired. And I just need somewhere to go.

So here I am.

I am starting small - decaffeinating my life...as caffeine makes me quite ill and leads me down the road to eating poorly. It's just one small step I am committing to right now.

Hope to get to know all of you!

Welcome ReitmansFatGirl, you have come to the right place for support and great advice. It does start with making that first step and continuing with step after step. Good luck and never give up!

Welcome!!

I too felt that way - I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. And finally I decided - I couldn't and WOULDN'T take it anymore. Finally realized that I didn't have to be fat if I didn't want to be. That I did have a choice. That it was under my control and most definitely within my power.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll get there.

Hello & welcome, from another new kid on the block. I too am so tired of being overweight. Sick of it. A reunion comingi up kicked my royal arse in gear to start over. And I'm so grateful. Because I just couldn't make myself make the commitment. I'm like you: baby steps. Good luck and best wishes!

Hi, I'm new here too. You sound like you have a good handle on things since you have already recognized one of your triggers - caffeine. That's my drug of choice too, so I know how hard it is to give up. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. It's so hard to start again, from the beginning, because - where do you start? Food? Exercise? Both? I guess you just have to start where you know. For me that is getting rid of caffeine. Coke, caffeinated coffee...ugh. It's the path that gets me back to eating chips and junk food. Once I eliminate that again, it will get easier. This time I'm not cutting it out cold turkey. I am going to gradually get rid of it.

Today I had a great breakfast too. It was filling (oatmeal) with blueberries, flax, oat bran. And I had 1 1/2 coffees. Today, no coke, no other caffeine. Just advil and tylenol for the withdrawal. Tomorrow, one cup of coffee. I;m taking this one baby step at a time.

ps. oh and I weighed in at 290lbs. this morning.
