The amount of weight one will lose during Phase 1 differs from person to person, taking into consideration their weight, height, body structure, exercise, and so many other factors.

Welcome! I don't rememeber and didn't keep track. I was very pleased with myself for sticking to it and I felt so much better after finishing.

Best wishes!

Mo- The first 4-5 days I had lost 6 lbs. I lost my 7th on Saturday morning (day 12) but really messed up yesterday at a party so I am back up 2.5lbs. I will be doing an extra week of Phase 1 to get back on track. Around Day 6 I started changing up my food because I was bored and I went through several days of constipation and loss of appetite. It was horrible!!

I just finished Phase I last night, weighed in before brunch this morning, and I lost . . . 9 lbs! I've done South Beach several times now over the past few years and that was BY FAR the best I've ever done on Ph I. ( I think last time I lost 4 or 5 lbs.)

I'm actually a little nervous about Phase II. I love bread/pasta etc., and I think one of the reasons I did so well on Ph I was I followed the rules with very few cheats (a little wine). Now, I'm a little worried about the carbs kicking me down the hill on a carb roll (one bite and then I eat far more than just a serving.)

If I start gaining back weight, I'm going to do what Shelly's doing and go back to Phase I.

Good luck MoEstrada!

I lost 8# in Phase I. I do go back to Phase I for 3-4 days every once in a while when I've been bad!

Honestly, I didn't weigh myself until I had been on SB for 2 months. At that time I had lost 45 pounds.

Natasha: 45 lbs. between weigh-ins. That's fantastic!!!! Did you have any "tricks" (things that kept you on course)?

I was VERY pleased w/ the results. I did stick to it pretty much...I think I cheated one day and that was by having a bun w/ a burger at a cookout.

Honestly, I think the biggest thing was that I cut out Pepsi. I was a Pepsi addict and drank at least 3 cans and 2 or 3 large glasses per night. Plus I cut down on my portions BIG TIME...and b/c it's part of the SB plan, I went from eating 1 big meal per night to eating 3 small meals and 2 snacks (okay, I'm still having trouble w/ 3 meals...it's usually more like 2 meals and 3 snacks instead). Oh...and I was on Phentermine those first few months, too...that may have had something to do w/ it as well.

I lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks but then I stopped, despite remaining on Phase 1 with the occasional piece of fruit. I have lost 14 pounds in about four weeks and am hoping to break the plateau I hit since losing the recent fourteen.

I have read that you lose about 10% your total weight loss target.... we will see about that!

I almost think it depends on whether you've done Southbeach before. The first time I did phase 1 I lose 11 pounds in the first two weeks...which rocks!! However, I just completed phase 1 again and this time I only lost 5 pounds in the two weeks. But then again I wasn't completely off Phase 2 before I began this phase 1 again.

But hey, it's still a loss!!!
