Default Chicken and Turkey

I love chicken breasts and sliced turkey for sandwiches, it's the only two meats that I eat. I want to know where you get yours, what form, etc. etc.

What are the best planet friendly choices out there for me? Thanks

Your best choice is to find a local farm! Might actually be a wee bit cheaper than the grocery too. If you can learn to properly carve a chicken, you'll save loads of money.

I second the farm idea. Otherwise, seek out meat sources at a local co-op or farmers market ... they usually have meat that was ethically raised, hormone free, etc.

I buy whole chickens at the Farmers Market and carve them myself. It took me 5 chickens and about month to get a handle on the carving process, now I can do it in less than five minutes and it's no big deal. I grill the legs and use them in chicken salad and fix the breasts in all kinds of ways. All the other parts go in the freezer for chicken stock which I use in soup and as the liquid for cooking rice with.
