Default A convoluted hello!

*edit - I'm back. See my second post in this thread on page 2!*

In January of this year I found this site - this was the same day that I decided that I was going to take my life back and start living healthy.

After going through the various forums, I found a home in the 300+ club (plus a couple others) since that is where I felt I belonged. I thought the 100 lb. Club was for people who were in their 100s and I didn't think that I could handle seeing posts by people who thought they were fat when they weighed 130+ pounds less than I, so I stayed away from that sort of discouragement.

When I was around my 60 pound lost mark, I realized that this forum was not what I thought it was - I thought it was for people who had already lost 100 pounds so I decided that I was going to use "posting in the 100 pound Club forum" as my 100 pounds lost reward.

Around the 80 pound lost mark, I realized I was STILL wrong, and felt like a tool to boot, but I only had 20 pounds to go to reach my original reward goal so kept with it but started reading most of the posts. I've been a lurker ever since.

Well - short story long - after hovering around the 96-99 pound loss for the past 2 long weeks, it finally happened this morning - 101.2 pounds lost and my reward post is nigh!

So hello all! This is a happy day for me (really? I have lost 100 pounds in 7 months and 1 day - shenanigans!!!), on the eve of a very exciting weekend (going to see my family for the first time since my weight loss and they don't even know I have been "dieting") and I am just giddy.

Sorry for the rambling - I'm having a hard time containing myself today

Well now after losing 100 pounds you have less than 100 pounds to go till goal. Since this forum is for people who are 100+ overweight, you can't post here anymore. You've lost you chance

Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!

I love this story!! I'm so glad you posted it! Lots of people have misconceptions about this place, so you are not alone. And incidentally, I understand how you feel. There's an area of this board where I tread lightly on which posts I'll open because I can't handle hearing someone who wants (not needs) to lose 15 pounds complain about how unbelievably fat they are. I'm just not that strong and my fingers itch to type "You have no idea."

100 pounds is awesome!! And your head must just be spinning with the speed of it!

Thanks so much everyone for your warm welcome and positive thoughts. I am pretty stoked! I am hoping the husband will be wielding a camera for some reaction photos. I think that would be great fun. And hopefully I'll have photos of ME when I get back, too! I just have to muster up the courage. You know how that goes

I am a clean eater and I count calories. I go into a lot of detail about my process in my blog (linked in my sig). At the top are tabs; click on the "My Dietary Plan" tab for all the info!
