Default Where are all of the whole food/clean food eaters?

Hi everyone! I just started eating clean on Monday. I've been part of the 20-somethings support group here, and I was surprised to find that this board is not nearly as active! Where is everyone? I'd love to make friends with similar food interests!

I typically hang in the South Beach forum- because thats kind of where i started and I can eat "wholly" and still be considered a SBD'r

Default Hi there!

Dr.Joel Fuhrman and his "Eat to Live" and "Eat for Health" books have me eating with nutritional excellence in mind, so that leaves me with clean/whole foods at the top of my food choices.

I've lost 23 pounds, feel fabulous and have begun adding running to my daily walks. Not doing a full 5 mile run yet, but at least half of it is running.

And all this (finally) at age 56!!

I'll start a monthly chat thread, here. Let's see if we can keep it going!

Hey,

I'm just getting started with whole foods and trying to keep things in perspective and make small, permanent steps. I get overwhelmed with all the information and research and personal opinions. It would be nice to join a group of like minded people to help me as I learn to implement this new lifestyle!

Right now I am getting all the processed foods out of my house, slowly switching to organic products, and trying to cut back on meat and dairy.

I workout with my elliptical machine 35-45 minutes a day and then just started Jillian's 30 Day Shred for strength training.

I have lost 40 pounds slowly over the past two years from my highest weight but I go for awhile really good and then after some success fall off the wagon and stay the same for months at a time before I dig in the willpower to start again. I would still like to lose another 40-45 pounds at this point.

All that to say...count me in!

And me too! I have a LONG way to go in regaining my health and a healthy weight, but I feel I am on the right track. Have been enjoying an exclusively wholefoods diet for 3 weeks now and have easily lost--I'm really not sure how much at this point because I don't weigh often.

I'm thrilled to find a forum for wholefoods on this site. Glad to "meet" everyone!

A little late to chime in but I am trying to follow a whole foods lifestyle. I have also decided to limit my meat intake by having one vegetarian meal a day and a vegetarian day a week.
