Default What eating plan does this resemble?

I want to discuss my eating choices on 3 Fat Chicks to get advice and encouragement. Could you look at my eating plan and see where I best fit- whole foods, low carb, phase one South Beach, or something else?

Eat/drink daily:

fish and/or eggs
skim milk
fresh vegetables
fruit
fat (mayo or oil)
herbs & spices
Diet soda (I need it's bad for me, but I love it)

Eat sometimes, but not daily (usually when eating out, not at home)

soy
cheese
nuts
beans
bacon
olives

Eat/drink rarely, in moderation

alcohol
rice

Foods I avoid (but I might have a serving, now and again)

Sugar
Flour
Potatoes
Starchy vegetables
Processed foods, including lean cuisine type dinners
Chick peas (I love them too much, so I had to ban these babies )

There are probably foods I'm forgetting. I mostly eat vegetables, lean protein, milk and fruit.

What plan do I most resemble or am a strange bird?

Thanks.

Well, fruit is banned in SB phase 1 (although you do add it in later - and honestly, it doesn't look like you have tons to lose. So if you're not craving sugar, you might be able to just start in phase 2 with a serving of fruit daily).

Why do you feel like you need a specific "plan"? Have you found your weight loss has stalled or some other reason?

You are almost totally what I would call Primal (very healthy - I feel great and am losing like I want).

Check out Mark Sisson's book Primal Blueprint (a cookbook is also out now).

His blog is also very helpful - make sure you read around on the forum - lots of information, recipes, etc.

I have always tried to eat low fat, high carb (healthy complex grains, etc.), but I am now a true convert. I urge you to do some reading and see what you think.

I haven't been active on it, but I know there's a thread on primal on the low carb section of 3FC. Good luck!

Thanks. I knew my eating had to resemble something on the 3FC board. I will check out the Primal diet for tips and the primal threads on 3FC.
