Default Tuesday Touching Base

Good morning The sun is out and it's going to be a lovely day. I love starting my day with all of you It helps me get focused and plan my day.

Today is a hectic one for me. I'm doing a program assessment this morning. That's 3 +/- hours of standing quietly and taking notes along with counting toys and materials. We've been trying to schedule this one for a couple of months so I hope it goes well. Then it's catch-up on the morning messages, grab some lunch and off to the PT. Back to the office and a hair cut at the end of the day followed by a trip to the Co-op. June is always crazy between planning for the new year that starts July 1, all the last minute requests from programs, and using up vacation time

Tomorrow I'm off to my parents after staff meeting. Summer is tough for my mom with no subbing so no breaks. I try to get there once a month. My brother and soon to be step kids are coming the weekend after then my daughter will be there July 4th weekend. Hopefully all that company will perk my Dad up a bit. I'm spending an extra day so we have 3 full days to do stuff. My Mom always plans stuff to do when I'm there though I'd be happy to just hang out There will be a day out with Dad and then 2 days of thrifting and maybe garden shop hopping. I'll bring my bike for early evening rides. Food will be even more on plan then at home. My Mom has taken it all very seriously and makes lots of veggie and bean salads and grilled fish while I'm there. She has lost about 30 lbs since I reached goal and makes sure to walk at least 5 miles each day (I got her a pedometer like mine). Her doctor is very impressed!

Okay, time to plan my food and get this day moving. Hope the sun is shining where you are

Good morning - wet grass means wet paws on my lap - very refreshing!

Busy day today with banking, Good Food Box, a luncheon, Bingo to get started at 6 and then Book Club at 7:30 - all fairly fun stuff though. I divested myself of the Cemetery Board job yesterday and feel much relieved. Never allow yourself to get sucked into a volunteer job that is a huge drag!

Today is going to be sunny and I just might be able to get some garden jobs done.

For now, come and chat.

Wow, you ladies are BUSY. I feel guilty..nothing on my plate today other than the gym and some housework! Still dark here, so no telling if the sun is coming out or not. Bad storms in N.O. last night, but not a drop here. Our dryer decided to die again yesterday and we may go shopping for another one this afternoon, or maybe not. Husband got sent home from work yesterday, so I doctored him up and hopefully he will make it through the day today.

Ruth - Congratulations on your new founds freedom from the Cemetery Board!
I was lying in bed this morning thinking about the garden tasks that should have been done two weeks ago but are still waiting because of the rain. Our soil is also very heavy so doesn't work well wet. I think I'm just going to put a lot of greens in and call it a year.

Hi everyone! Today will be nice here too. My morning yoga is really getting me going. I don't even mind getting up to do it.

I stayed on plan yesterday and realized I made a huge mistake when I started all over on June 1. I think I was being way too draconian - plain hard boiled eggs instead of my crustless quiche/rolled omlette, no roll ups for lunch, etc. I think I was actually getting "too little" fat which is why I was backed up even after taking metamucil. This time around I'm doing what I did the first time I did Phase 1, which is not worrying so much about the fat, and it's already easier. I am actually looking forward to eating my Phase 1 food.

There is so much going on at the end of the school year and then camp begins immediately the day after the last day of school, so there is lots of prep to do for that, and I am hoping my son really likes camp. He has grown up so much lately....

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Peeps! I've been pretty busy so far this morning. Pass the coffee, please?

Cyndi, I hope your morning assessments pass by quickly and end up being fun. One can only hope, anyway. It sounds like the rest of your week will be fun, though. That's wonderful news about your mother, congratulate her for me! My mother is diabetic and did so well for almost a year following SBD, but then she slipped up and never did get back on board, despite much coaxing from me.

Ruth, I know that is such a huge weight off your shoulders, not having to deal with the Cemetery Bored anymore! I hope you have a nice day for gardening!

Cat, I hope your DH is doing much better today! Happy dryer shopping, if you do it today.

Matilda, (I just love your name!), I'm so glad that you are back on the SBD wagon again and figuring out what works best for you. I hope summer camp agrees with your son!

My day ahead is looking pretty good. I have some gardening and other chores to do at the farm before I pick up the girls after school. It will be a late night since Cindy has polo, so I'm bringing the girls back here for swimming, and Jake said he'd grill burgers for them, too. Amber will probably come over if she finds out Audrey and Maggie will be here.
Today is my oldest granddaughter's birthday, and I can't believe Caitlyn is 20 already! Where did the time go????

Good morning ladies!

The countdown is on for me - we've got our classroom awards ceremony this morning. It's a very big deal, lots of parents, grandparents and other family members in the audience and each child will get a special award. The kids have been so excited and anxious for the day to get here, I bet some of them have been singing our songs in their sleep! lol I love the whole thing, too. It's so much fun to come up with an award to fit each child and then we wrap up with a slideshow of photos from the school year. This is the first year in a long time that I haven't been dreading the whole parents/grandparents with cameras part of the event though. I'm not sure I'll ever really like a photograph of myself but at least this year I won't have to worry about hiding my huge belly behind the biggest kid in the class.

I've promised myself that I won't head home today until I've finished the first 6 items on my end of the year list. I'm moving back to my old (larger and nicer ) classroom in the fall so I have to pack and label everything. There's no way I can get all of that done in the day and a half set aside for it. Hey, I've got an idea..... Anyone wanna come to Maine for a "Pack Up Party"?

Cindy, I hope the assessment goes well (and the time flies) this morning.
Ruth, Congratulations on getting off that committee!
Cat, I'm looking forward to a few days like that! Enjoy the time to yourself.
Matilda, I'm so pleased to read that things are going better now. Enjoy another OP day!
Hi Linda, how did the field day go yesterday? Happy Birthday to Caitlyn!
And a to those who haven't checked in yet.

Have a great Tuesday!

Good morning from Lenox MA where the sun comes up way too early! If you are interested, I did post on my blog about my first day at the spa (but ignore the very little bit of food porn). Not sure if I will hike later today as planned since as of last night no one else had signed up. I am not much of a hiker and just the guide and me would feel quite strange. I'll see. Have a great day all.

Good morning chicks!! We're a chatty bunch this morning, that means the coffee today is caffeinated?!

Quick fly through for me...long day at work. One day down, four to go! I dislike it when the boss is away...longer hours for me .

THe mexican crockpot casserole yesterday was FABULOUS!! I think I'll have to post it in the recipe section. I'm looking forward to leftovers at lunch today .

Have a great one!

Good Morning

It's a low energy day here, so far...I'm hoping it picks up. Kirk beat me to the coffee this AM, but his mood is still up and down since his trip which affects me more than I'd like to admit. It looks like a nice day...we need some warmth again. Food has been good! I've started cooking out of the freezer again-making vegetarian choices for me. It will be nice to weed things out a bit. Pool and paperwork on my agenda...and I've been knitting again. It keeps my hands out of the food.

Cyndi, thanks for getting us started. Glad to hear your weather is perking up and that you'll take your bike when you visit your folks. Power on through your busy day!

Ruth, glad to hear you've gotten out of the CB. There's nothing worse than spending time on something that isn't enjoyable. I hope your chores get done so you can enjoy some home time.

Cat, hope your DH is feeling better and you don't feel too guilty about your lack of agenda. You are sooo busy all school year.

Mmc, glad to hear you are feeling better about your plan. I love your new ticker!

Linda, Happy Birthday to Caitlin! Your day sounds fun and the pool and grilling out are a great combo!

Heidi, I wish I could come and help you pack! I love your classroom awards ceremony...inspiring the kids is a real winner!

Karen, thanks for checking in! Hope someone else signs up to hike, but I would say go anyway! What could be better than a private guide? I'll check your blog this AM.

Twynn, the coffee is always caffeinated here! Love your new avatar and the recipe sounds great!

Ok, off to work and maybe a short nap. Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone! I'm tired this morning, so I slept in until 7 instead of a morning workout!! I went to Curves and did a walking video yesterday, so as long as I can sneak in a short exercise video tonight, it should still fit within my summer plans.

Everyone sounds so happy! It was a joy to read all your posts and inspires me to have a happy, productive summer.

HI ladies,
BAD night with my 14 month old...It was after midnight before he finally calmed down. This makes mama a little grumpy. He was absolutely wired. I have no idea why. His sugar intake has dropped so much since we've been on SB. Hmmm. Something to ponder. He did not want to eat anything yesterday. he finaly conceded to SB deep dish pizza and yogurt. Gonna need a nap today for sure.

I have to head to the farmers market today--which is insane depending on the time of day. Guess I should get there early. Hoping to hit the pool again and then restock the fridge with prepared stuff! I hope your days go as planned. Sounds like everyone is busy! Tuesday begins!

Hi everyone. Just stopping by to say hello. It's a busy week for me I work all day and then I had a softball game last night and one on Wednesday. I can already notice a difference in my stamina. Joining this softball team was the reason why I wanted to lose weight in the first place and now with SB, I'm actually doing it which feels great. I'm going to the gym Tuesday and Thursday nights, so that should be a solid 4 nights this week of exercise. I want to try for 5, but I have dinner and a show plans for Friday night. It will be my first dinner out (EEEK!) but DH and my Mom are also doing SB, so I'm going to do some research today to find a restaurant that has some decent options for us.

Friday is my HS class reunion and the first time I am going to drink alcohol. I've decided to stick to vodka and club or rum and diet. And just really watch what I eat. Not drinking is SO not an option!
