Default Disneyland anxiety

I have posted a few times that I am going to Disneyland in 2 months. I really am very excited about this vacation. But as it gets closer, the more stressed I seem to get at the thought of going. I was talking to a friend last night about my anxiety, and I got very emotional when I talked about the possible humiliation of being to big for some of the rides. I know that it is a possiblity, but my family keeps telling me that it will be ok. I am nervous about this, and I don't know how to handle it if it does come up. Anyone been to a theme park lately? I would love to hear from other people my size that I shouldn't have to much of an issue.

I would not worry too much about going to disneyland. I went to disneyland and california adventure at my highest weight (285+) a little over a year ago and I fit on every ride that I wanted to go on fine including the roller coaster at CA adventure and space mountain. I was nervous when I went about fitting on the rides too but don't worry about it too much and just have a good time

Don't worry! There are people far bigger than you I've seen on rides. My friend's brother is quite a large guy and he loves going on rides. At your weight I was able to go on rides AND I'm 6 inches shorter than you (so your most likely slimmer in some places where I was thicker). Some were a tight squeeze but no one around me cared, really, I mean everyone is just there to have fun. And just remember, if there is a problem, which I HIGHLY doubt there should be, your fixing it right now.

I wouldn't worry about it at all . . . . . I've seen a lot of people on the rides that were bigger than you, you'll be fine!
And just think of all that walking you're going to get in . . . WOW

maybe you're feeling the extra anxiety because you feel like you're still at your higher weight? I went to a smaller amusement park near Pittsburgh at about my weight now last year and didn't have any problems with the rides (I carry extra weight in my legs and behind). Have a blast, and enjoy the time with your family.

I was at DL a little over a year ago, probably somewhere around 255-260ish. Same height as you. I am an apple shape with long legs and relatively small hips and butt but big through the stomach so if you are a different shape, my experience may not be that relevant.

A couple of rides, I had to work a little bit to get the seat belt on but there wasn't anything I couldn't fit on at all. The two rides that I was the most uncomfortable on were Dumbo and Autotopia. I fit on them but not happily and Dumbo esp. was very hard for me to get in and out of, but more for the way the seat was configured than size. No problems on any of the coasters.

If you have a question about a specific ride, let me know and I'll see if I remember anything specific about it.

Family went to DW last month and I lost weight during my visit. I would rather have you put your worry into planning to stay on plan while there than worrying about other people will think of you. More productive don't you think?

I'm 5' 8", and when I was at 285 pounds I didn't have trouble with any of the rides I went on at Disneyland; same goes for Universal Studios if that helps any.

Default I went in March

Hi there. I went to Disneyland in March-2 months and about 10 lbs ago. I weighed about 260 when I was there. I am just a tad taller than you. I know everyones measurements are different, even two girls weighing the exact same thing/same height but....

I fit in the rides at 260 and 5ft7. Granted it was snug but there wasn't ever any ride operator that even looked concerned that wouldn't fit. My a** fit in all the seats and the seat belt fit around me/ride bar could click close without any crazy sucking in of my gut.

I personally think you will be fine!! Also, wear comfy shoes and bring a backpack for bottles of water, sunscreen and healthy snacks. They charge an arm and a leg for those items bought in the park. I got blisters the first night as I forgot to pack my tenny shoes, didn't want to miss anything the first night we got there. We didn't go buy new shoes for me until the next day when we could find a Target close by.

Another good tip: If your room is close by, plan for an afternoon seista for you and any little ones. A two or three hour break makes all the difference. The park is open quite late and for me it would have been impossible to stay for the fireworks had I gone non-stop all day.

I was just at Universal/Islands of Adventure last weekend and I noticed on some of the roller coasters they had designated rows that were for bigger people. I don't know if they have that at Disney yet, but in the lines there were signs that said "Blah blah this ride is not guaranteed to accomodate all body shapes, but rows 2 and 4 are special blah blah" whatever, I don't remember exactly what it said lol

What size are you? I'm a little bit shorter than you and when I was at my highest I was ok on the newer rides. The only thing I didn't fit in was Six Flags' Superman coaster...

I just got back from DW two weeks ago. My weight was 270 and my husband weighs 330. We rode everything that we wanted too and had no issue at all. Go and have a great time and do not worry about it. Make sure you drink plenty of water because you will be doing some major walking. I actually lost weight on our trip. LOL

Right now I am between a 24 and a 22. My 24 jeans are very loose, but my 22's a little tight. Hopefully I will be in a comfy 22 when I go. I am planning on buying a couple pairs of crocs before we go. They are not the most attractive shoes, but they are comfy and hopefully they will help to keep my knee pain to a minimum for the week. Thank you all for your advice.

I have an annual pass and go frequently and have had no problems - I agree you will be fine. If you knees are a little bad, be careful on Autopia. The cars are very low to the ground and there's not much to grab to help yourself get in and out.

I know at Disneyworld, they have some of the cars off to the side so you can discretly see if you will fit. DH and I are bigger than you and we fit everything 2 weeks ago!!
